I watched a bit of him this year. He is stronger in the midfield. Less flashy and more substance. Underplaying his hand as opposed to trying to score on every touch, as he used to. He still has a decent turn of speed.

Interesting. Maybe with an eye on the following week?

I reckon Beale starts at 15 and us the back up 10 if we go 6/2. Cheika may play Foley at 10 this week and start Lilo there against the pumas.

At least To'omua has recent history with the Wallabies and is very good in defence. I reckon we will see Foley and Lilo as the 10 and backup inside back this week.

It’s probably time to bring through McDermott after the RWC. White and Powell will be there to help him along. Not sure why he made the announcement now and not at the RWC? He has been a great servant to Oz rugby.

White also has a prodigious kick for touch. If Hodge is not around he is good to have in the 23.

What I liked about Uelese when he played his couple of tests was that he carried very well and was physically dominant. His throwing was OK from memory too. FF (Folau Fainga'a) was one of the better hookers in Super rugby this year and hopefully that translates well to test rugby. Latu can also hold his own at...

Slipper, Uelese and Tupou offer the best of both worlds. Hopefully this year we will come home with a very strong scrum. Kepu has enormous experience and can open up a defence. Robertson will hold his own at scrum time and take the ball up all day. So nice to have that depth.

We need solid set piece ball and a pack going forward. The rest will come.

In what will most likely be our backs picked we will have Genia, Foley, Kerevi, Beale and maybe Banks. That’s more than enough x-factor. DHP and Koroibete have their moments in attack as well.

Maybe not but Cheika has preferred to have at least 2 and sometimes 3 genuine 7s in his 23. If he goes in with Dempsey on the bench and we lose Hooper early(unlikely) then we will be banging away at the Boks with a like for like back row............god forbid.

He’s most likely holding back TPN to have a look at other options. Like Pocock TPN is a known quantity and there is no point risking him. Time to see if Uelese is up to it. I would not have Latu anywhere near any Wallaby squad. He is a serial card puller right now. Could be the difference...

He’s had his moments at 15 since the Folau debacle began. He generally goes well against the Boks as well. Looking forward to seeing Wright. He’s more or less guaranteed a spot in the 23 unless Dempsey is the backup 7.

Yes. He’s pretty decent at 13 these days and not a bad back up. If TK is injured he could slot in well.

Valetini will be there in the next cycle. He doesn’t look ready for test football just yet. Fainga had a pretty bad night throwing. It was always a big ask to win or even be competitive against a fired up Jags in their first semi at home. Brumbies had a good year. Well done. Now Cheika and...

I like Samu as a player. He definitely goes if Pocock does not. Last world up we did not have the backrow options that we have now and Cheika was fully committed to the Pooper even if one of them was not available. Essentially Samu is a 7 who can play 6 and 8. I guess we will know more after the RC.
