    Super Rugby refs inconsistent?

    Not in the judiciary process.

Parra GM, have Parra been able to regain any old players that have been lost to other clubs? On another note, I saw that Junior To'o is now at Gordon.

    Super Rugby refs inconsistent?

You will find out tomorrow if the judiciary agree with you. If they think red, then he will be suspended. If they think yellow, he will be acquited. My best guess is that he will get 2-3 weeks off.

Kaplan - Can we petition to ensure he never referees an Australian side again?

I will give you scrum feeds as referees have thwarted the attempts of the IRB to fix this issue. However I think the referees would do it if the elite players and coaches wanted them to do it. My point is that the game is referee-ed according to current interpretations or game management...

Kaplan - Can we petition to ensure he never referees an Australian side again?

LG, Referees apply the laws and interpretations that have been set by rugby's authorities - the IRB, SANZAR and the ARU. Generally these laws and interpretations have been agreed by administrators, coaches and referees as they try to find the best balance of law application for a complex game...

Kaplan - Can we petition to ensure he never referees an Australian side again?

The South African referees tend to have very strong law knowledge. My gut feeling is that he din't make a law mistake or create a new interpretation - he just saw it wrong and and I suspect would admit to that upon review. I think he then did a very poor job in explaining his decision which...

    Shute Shield 2011

LG, it's a shame that you don't get a fee for each post because then you could prop up the Rats.

    Brumby Runner Trials

BP, if these players are so good, why haven't other franchises picked them up particularly in a year where the inclusion of Melbourne means franchises are desperate for talent? Also why should the Brumbies limit their academy to locals when every other franchise will try to pick the best young...

Surprise, surprise, the rules sort out some scrums

A few points to note re scrum engagements & resets. The number of resets were down in 2010 Super rugby - most believe due to an improved engagement process. In 2010, generally those with the slower cadence got the best results. In 2011, the edict is 4 call, 4 actions meaning that referees...

    Shute Shield 2011

Yes there is a 5 point discount for father/son and also for siblings if the player's brother played in the previous season. These family discounts only apply in your first year at the club which for many would be at colts level.

I didn't think Rats fans liked Angus after his run in with Brett Sheehan last year.

Then Jacob needs to move to Brisbane or Sydney because you need to referee the best standard of rugby in the country if you want to be an international referee and Brisbane and Sydney are where the best rugby is. Perhaps the Canberra comp is good enough but you are a long shot from there. You...

There will probably be changes for form and injury, so let's wait and see who ends up on the key games. Already Steve Walsh is out injured for the first month.
