    Western Force 2011

I am pretty sure that Swanepoel was retained as their No 3 No 9 behind Sheehan and Turner. However Turner is out for the S15 and Stannard has come in. I suspect Stannard will get the bench spot behind Sheehan.

    Shute Shield 2010

I would give them a good chance of winning if they have Robinson and Alexander. Uni's scrum has not been as strong this year.

Anyone prepared to tip Randwick or Warringah this weekend?

    wallabies wish list?

Scarfman, I like your notion of not picking guys out of position but cannot understand your rationale for considering Turner at fullback. He is a winger and has looked out of his depth at fullback. IMO his ball skills preclude him from playing anywhere other than wing.

Fairbrother is 28 and could have 5 good years although your point is still valid.

    Oz S15 & Academy Squads 2011

Huia Edmonds is 29 in October. Ulugia was cut at the end of 2009. He picked up a late contract in 2010 when the Brumbies had a few injuries but was not used.

I agree with Lee - they look better on paper than they do in reality. L.Holmes, Whalley, Robinson & Sam Harris have all played S14 but will be unlikely to play again. Their front row rarely dominates against the good teams. 2 of their best players are half backs and so one of them has to play...

    2007: GPS comp and Schoolboys

I think James O'Connor was also in this team. From memory, the stars for Oz against the Kiwis were Rob Horne and Talalelei Gray. Other players from the Oz team to play S14 are Fitzpatrick and Sipa Taumopeau. Mark Swanepoel from the Force was also in that Oz team.

Lee, what do you do for a job that allows you to get to all these rugby tournaments? I ask out of jealousy.

Coridas was ruled out for the season before the club rugby season even began.

I didn't think Horton was a no-name. I believe he is in his late 20s and had been in and out of S14 over the past 6-7years.

I think that is Ben Smith

Ref's; what makes 'em good, what should they be trying to do.

Vinnie Munro is a bit of a referee journeyman. He got a chance when NZ lost Honiss, Bray, Walsh & Deaker in the same year. He is 42 or 43 already and not considered to be a potential IRB referee. He has good rapport with the players and is therefore a popular referee. He didn't referee as...

Sorry, en_force_er, I agree with wamberal - Brock James is not S14 quality. He was one of the first players cut from the inaugural Force squad. I think it would be a backward step to go to a guy who is pushing 30. We have enough 10s in Australia - they just need to be shared around. Arguably...

IMO, No. I don't think he has the speed. 6'2 (but that's a guess)

Playing 2nd Grade at Easts in Sydney. He gets some minutes in Firsts (1 start, I think). He is great around the field but I suspect needs time to develop his scrummaging.

So what is Alcock doing next year? He has not received a contract - is he going back to the Academy or maybe going to the Sevens circuit for a year?

    Shute Shield 2010

It will amaze me if aspirational S15 players join Parramatta next year without the benefit of a significant pay cheque.
