    Western Force 2021

Not quite as black and white as that. Aussie Rules (as we used to call it) was always popular in the south of the state. Some stars came out of these areas, and the ACT (Alex Jesaulenko for one, and what a one). It was Jeffery Edelstein's willingness to throw zillions into the game that made...

    Round 5 : Reds v Force, Suncorp Stadium, 20 March 6.45

Vunivalu is coming along well, he seems to be settling in really well. As his confidence improves, I reckon he will demand selection.

    Waratahs 2021

The problem is impossible to solve. We need district rugby clubs in all our cities. District clubs are semi-professional at best, they rely to a significant extent on voluntary workers and financial input from their supporters. There must be the best part of 100 of these entities, and they...

    Round 5: Rebels v Tahs - Friday 19/3, AAMI Park, 7:45pm AEDT

As an Eastwood supporter for many years, there is nothing I would like better than to see another one of ours become a first choice Tah. We have had far too few of them over the years!

    Round 5: Rebels v Tahs - Friday 19/3, AAMI Park, 7:45pm AEDT

I thought he did okay when he got into the game.

    Round 5: Rebels v Tahs - Friday 19/3, AAMI Park, 7:45pm AEDT

What about Perese and Foketi? They are actually 12s. They are both reasonably solid, but are also better attacking options than Edmed, at this stage. He might end up as a To'omua type 12.

    Round 5: Rebels v Tahs - Friday 19/3, AAMI Park, 7:45pm AEDT

I don't know much about his history, other than his season at Eastwood. He is solid, rather than brilliant. I am not sure where he fits in at this stage of his career, other than as a bench option. Where does he start? 10? That's covered. 12? Not yet, IMHO. I would pick either Perese or Foketi...

By you? Or through the normal channels?

    Round 5: Rebels v Tahs - Friday 19/3, AAMI Park, 7:45pm AEDT

He simply cannot be worse than the incumbent 12. However, he is still just a kid, throwing him into this sad excuse for a team would be a big gamble.

    Round 5: Rebels v Tahs - Friday 19/3, AAMI Park, 7:45pm AEDT

On the other hand, perhaps the truth is somewhere between the two extremes posited by our resident critic. I doubt that any observer knows exactly how the blame should be apportioned. Perhaps, just perhaps, there are some good fellas slaving away but getting outvoted or outmanoeuvred by the bad...

    Round 5: Rebels v Tahs - Friday 19/3, AAMI Park, 7:45pm AEDT

Yes, yes, yes, everything is rotten. Throw everything away and start again. Nothing worth salvaging. Have I got the party line right?

    Waratahs 2021

Right from the botched kick off (was that Penney's fault, incidentally?) most of the team were visibly not up to standard. Raw talent. Hah. Most of them are second-raters, frankly. BTW, who bought Moeroa?

    Round 5: Rebels v Tahs - Friday 19/3, AAMI Park, 7:45pm AEDT

Which genius bought Moeroa? The invisible man.

Super Rugby Au Rnd 3 Waratahs vs Force 5th March, Sydney

A genuinely independent new franchise in NSW? With guaranteed funding for x years? The only constraint is on the player supply side. The last thing I would want to see is a rugby retirement home.

    Round 5 : Reds v Force, Suncorp Stadium, 20 March 6.45

Kevin, with the best will in the world (and I want to see the Force become a great success) you filled your stadium in the early days, the last time around. Let's wait and see.

    Wallabies 2021

I would add Vunivalu. For no particular reason, other than he has the height, agility, and particularly the speed for it. Nawaqanitawase is not ready yet, IMHO. But he will be sooner rather than later a fixture in our back three. Petaia would be my choice.

Super Rugby Au Rnd 3 Waratahs vs Force 5th March, Sydney

I think we all agree that Roger Davis should pack his attache and get the fark out of our lives. Forever and ever.

    So is a winning margin.

    Wallabies 2021

It would be nicer still if one of them would scoop the pool and become the undisputed new star 15!
