    Wallabies 2021

We currently have a bunch of possible full backs who are not stand-out first choices for the national team!

    Wallabies 2021

He is probably the safest choice first up.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Is there nothing we could learn from the success of the Storm? I confidently predicted that they would be a failure (based on a few years living there): I was certain that our game would prevail after we went professional. After all, rugby had been an established presence there for many years...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

There was an article in today's SMH talking about the booming ratings for the Storm in Melbourne. They also get good crowds at their games. If we want to know what it takes to be popular, they are a good example. They hired an excellent coach, he has turned out to be arguably the best club...

Super Rugby Au Rnd 3 Waratahs vs Force 5th March, Sydney

Everybody has turned their backs on the Tahs, including fans in the greater west (and there must have been some). There is no magic bullet. The popularity of Super Rugby has been sliding for a long time in Sydney. The main mission for the Waratahs is to win bloody games. A secondary mission...

    Wallabies 2021

I am on your side with this. Folau had big weaknesses in his game, like his kicking ability - not to mention his virtual inability to pass the ball. Vunivalu has a bit to learn, but if he knows how to kick, and pass, he would have a big chance of becoming better than the Fool.

Super Rugby Au Rnd 4 - Brumbies V Reds Gio Stad Canberra 13Mar

When there is a game in Canberra, Tim Gable always gives the ABC some good coverage. Bear in mind that we have had a virtual monopoly for the last few weeks, with the NRL only starting this weekend: that might explain a bit of the extra coverage. Unfortunately it will disappear, as the big...

    Super Rugby AU 2021 -Rd 4 - Force v Rebels - Fri 12/3

Pretty impressive defensive effort by the Force forwards in the first half. Have not watched the second stanza, probably will not bother, other than maybe trying to locate Koroibete's highlights. He is always worth watching.

    Super Rugby AU 2021 -Rd 4 - Force v Rebels - Fri 12/3

Absolutely agree. He is one of Australian rugby's few "stars". I believe that RA should do everything they can to retain him.

    Waratahs 2021

Ask Alan Jones. He knows everything about rugby. Never played it, but is still an expert.

    Reds 2021

I have been around a helluva lot longer than you, I would guess. I remember the Australia of the fifties, which was white, middle-class, and conformist. You want to see a conformist culture? Go back a few decades. We have come a long way since then, but in terms of our relationships with...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Nothing makes sense until we can see the money.

Super Rugby Au Rnd 3 Waratahs vs Force 5th March, Sydney

It is possibly a result of the franchise's success. Let's face it, if I had lived half way or so between Sydney and Canberra, I would quite possibly have been more inclined to follow them, they played some very exciting and innovative rugby.

Super Rugby Au Rnd 3 Waratahs vs Force 5th March, Sydney

Sydney is battling to support one Super Rugby franchise (and, arguably, losing the battle), and the answer is to start up another one? Spare me.

It is a wee bit early to write him off.

    Australian Rugby / RA

The shambles at the Shute Shield level? Really? AFAIK it is still the strongest club competition in the nation. Am I missing something?

    Wallabies 2021

I think the question has been asked before, but is Uru qualified for national selection? I believe he has represented Fiji at Under 20s?

Super Rugby Au Rnd 3 Waratahs vs Force 5th March, Sydney

So what? The geographical centre of rugby support in Sydney is a long way to the east. That is just a fact. It has been a fact for as long as I can remember, through good days, and bad days.

    Australian Rugby / RA

Would not worry me in the slightest. If the choice is between private equity (with all the attendant commercial glitz) or back to amateurism, give me all the glitz please.
