Dear All - Just noticed that the Randwick Season passes are available again. $50 for 9 home games has to be great value - I just followed the link via the Randwick Rugby web site to buy one.

Pinomi has played 1st grade for west harbour for a few years - don't know whether he was any good though. I think Geoff Ingram has retired, Nathan Paila has gone back to easts, Matt McKay gone to Easts. Am sure there are a few Locks lined up to come. With the exception of Pinomi, these are...

There is a newRandwick iPhone App which is very good. That has details of some players. There are a few top notch Colts plus a few Grade players - these include Tim Donlan from Warringah who is a 9, Alfred Pinomi from WH who is a 4, Sam Figg from Norths who is a back rower. I guess Matt Carraro...

3rd tier is back in 2014 [Discontinued]

EOIs and RFIs etc are just an opportunity for anyone to throw their hats in the ring. That then enables the decision makers to take the ideas with the most appeal and run with those. I think the ARU should be given credit - they have opened up the opportunity for everyone. My guess is they will...

Why not go the whole hog & add a map of tassie in front (I know , very poor however had to be said)

Great overview & insight. Think the new comp should look after existing rugby regions as they are struggling - build these up first then try to develop elsewhere.

Ok didn't know that - thanks

Players to watch in 2014 - The Goal of the NRC

Great opportunity for young up & comers now. Guess thats why the Comp was formed. Wonder whether all players will get a few $$ out of this.

Mr Cosgrove will be busy being the next Governor General soon so I would rule him out

Dear Hugh - "why is it so difficult" seems to indicate that you have knowledge that the "Southern Clubs" are having difficulties. I am unaware of what they are doing at all, let alone them having difficulties. I have read scuttlebutt about Randwick however thats it. I bet they are all in...

3rd tier is back in 2014 [Discontinued]

Easily. State Championship results plus the number of boys in the Randwick Academy. Look at their web site for the picture. They have been training an academy of 150 boys with 15 coaches for some months. I am unaware that the others have that. Also, Colts & Club Championship results I think...

3rd tier is back in 2014 [Discontinued]

My guess is that all these clubs are talking about a link. The selection criteria is the criteria that will determine who gets the nod - the on field performance in 1st grade Shute Shield for the last 5 years is not the selection criteria. From memory, the criteria includes the management of...

Randwick & UNSW = $$$$ + support base Balmain @ Sydney Uni playing at Leichardt as another sydney team, plus the north shore consortia is my tip for the 3 Sydney teams

Sorry Snort, can't see it your way at all. As you say, we do not dominate Super Rugby. The Wobblies have been in the doldrums. Our Aussie Under 20s are ranked 8th. Our Sevens are on the up however also lowly ranked. We are well behind the Saffers, the Sheep Shaggers & at times the Soap Dodgers...

The make up of the participants and basis of support for the ARC will be tricky. It would seem that the Brumbies, Rebels & the Force will have a natural relationship (or ownership) of the respective State teams that will play in the ARC. Existing staff & premises, stable environment - just get...

3rd tier is back in 2014 [Discontinued]

Agree with your first paragraph & think its a strong point for those regions. Disagree that the "dregs" are all that is left. The talent may tail off however there are a lot of young guys emerging and seeking a gig. Also, lets not overlook that Uni have had Supe players running around in 2nds...

I know this is described as being a semi professional comp - what is in it for the players I wonder?

    Galloping Greens

Agree with Pete King. The Wicks needed to change things as they are obviously behind the top 4 clubs in many measures. Change doesn't always please all. The Club now has programmes & pathways to enable players to maximise their potential. I think the Wicks will give a lot of cheek in 2014...
