    Waratahs 2014

Good summation. Was surprised by the lack of dominance from the Waratah squad given they were playing an under strength club side. Would love to know the full team that played. I recognised Metcher in addition to the names you mentioned.

    National Rugby Championship 2014

T.W.O.S you have great knowledge on what shouldn't happen. Love to get your views on the following- Do you think Australian Rugby is OK as is? If it needs change, what would you suggest? Do you think a 3T comp should happen? If yes, how? You say we are not up to ITM & Currie Cup standard - how...

    National Rugby Championship 2014

One can't deny the past performance of the SS team I will grant you that. I don't know that Randwick think they are at the high standard set by Uni however they are heading in that direction. You can't fatten a pig on market day , I think the Wicks have been building things up over the last few...

    National Rugby Championship 2014

Dear DB - last I hard Randwick was JV with UNSW & Easts however they were leading it.

    National Rugby Championship 2014

Mate - you love Randwick so much you will obviously enjoy watching them play in the NRC. It is clear that no factual debate will satisfy your negativity towards Randwick which is fair enough. Such passion is obviously what the ARU are seeking and you have provided great examples of why...

    National Rugby Championship 2014

Dear Train, with respect, nobody other than the ARU knows how any of the bids are going to go at the new 3T level or what they are all bringing to the table. What the ARU have done is to invite all comers to strut their stuff, ie to make submissions. That happens a a lot in commerce. Typically...

    National Rugby Championship 2014

Dear Train WOS What goals do you think the NRC should aim for? How would suggest those goals are delivered? Is our demographic similar to the A League. Interested in your thoughts.

3rd tier is back in 2014 [Discontinued]

Apart from the last paragraph, I think your passage is a load of Bollocks TT. JOC (James O'Connor) played for West Harbour. Last I heard the Wicks were seeking a JV bid with 2 other groups NOT a stand alone bid. Talk of the Dwyer Maxwells etc running things is just out of touch and wrong. The management &...

3rd tier is back in 2014 [Discontinued]

I don't think even Randwick believe that "with existing funding, structure etc etc" they will succeed. That is precisely why they have overhauled the place. UNSW partnership, new management & coaching structure, new players, strong Colts etc etc. Randwick is on the up.

    National Rugby Championship 2014

Good Rant - got to start the thinking process somehow! Maybe the powers to be will invent some kind of draft to get the S15 players out to the NRC teams.

3rd tier is back in 2014 [Discontinued]

Thanks DB - I agree with your thoughts. My point was that the ARU seem to apply and act as they see fit to get this Comp to work, which I think is OK if the result is a winner. Manly has been way in front of the Wicks for the recent past and could mount a strong case to be a stand alone club...

3rd tier is back in 2014 [Discontinued]

Dear Dave Beat - I suspect there are a lot of issues & criteria being applied, I also suspect that different rules/treatment/criteria will be applied to each consortium as they all have different strengths. The objective seems to be to get competitive Rugby Teams playing in an interesting...

Player movements for Shute Shield 2014

see See that Rugby News wrote that Randwick have picked up Bill Meakes, Liam Windon & Sam Figg from Norths as well as Alfred Pinomi from WH & Alex Walker & Sioni Kolo from Easts. Also heard that the Warringah #9 Tim Donlan, plus a few others are going to the Wicks. BTW - is all OK at Norths?

3rd tier is back in 2014 [Discontinued]

Dear Brian - my overview is based on observation, intuition & summation - alas I really know bugger all. Continuing that approach, I think the Juniors will be valued more with the proposed changes- that is starting now. Uni have had Colts as their priority for ages and that has delivered for...

    Shute Shield 2014

Bruce, don't be paranoid - there are plenty of people that admire the way Uni have lifted the standard of Club Rugby in Australia.

I wonder if the Two Blues are everyones "favourite other team"

3rd tier is back in 2014 [Discontinued]

I am guessing that all clubs are being told that they must partner with another club in order to get selected for the NRC. Perhaps Uni (and Randwick) have decided that they may as well partner with a week club (ie one from 2nd division) rather than one that they usually go head to head in...

Trial - Rebels vs Waratahs - Saturday 1 February 5pm

How did Steve Hoiles go? He deserves to be back at this level - still has a lot to offer IMO.
  20. MACCA

Trial - Rebels vs Waratahs - Saturday 1 February 5pm

I heard he may be playing #6 this year - he has also played at #8 for the Wicks. Won the Wicks best & fairest so must have done something right - Club profile has him at 192cm.
