Apparently, you need $13m (ish) to fund a super rugby club each year. That said, with PE owners, it's not really the clubs problem any more. But if they didn't get their train station etc approved on the back of these sports investments then it could be quickly become the Rebels and RAs...

The thing is, during summer this will be managed by increasing the number of stoppages and water breaks. The players won't just miss more tackles. They will make more of all the mistakes. More scrums etc Games will take longer with more ball-out-of-play time. It doesn't solve the current issue

Having played and watched plenty of rubbish February rugby it's the dropped ball that kills it For some reason the dew/humidity/sweat/mud combo just makes the ball so slippery.

For the record, I have zero interest in sitting at Suncorp Stadium anytime in December and January, watching players skills disappear due to the extreme fatigue from the heat and humidity.

The Tahs don't even exist as a separate voting franchise anymore do they? So who cares what they want?

Any word if Wright is likely to re-sign (edit - added the hyphen)

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

I understand there's been some announcements about some seed funding, to get it moving, but nowhere near enough locked in to actually build it

Rugby Australia wouldn't be able say no to this, would they? (Obviously, they theoretically could...) But it would mean guaranteed legal action from those former directors who are currently personally liable for ATO bills.

The players contracts won't have changed yet (I'm guessing!), RA was always a party to every Super Rugby contract anyway, so they exist in the existing employment contract. The new owners will need a new ABN, etc. so a new contract will be needed

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

The players that don't want to go to the new training ground wouldn't be forced to sign the new contracts though right? So they could just leave by not signing on. There doesn't need to be a breach of contract, because they are all ending

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Won't all the players be on a new employment contract with the new owners anyway (even if the terms are the same)?

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

The smaller training ground and precinct is ready though right?. So if they are expected to turn up there it will be an issue

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

What does the Vic Gov have to sign off on? Are they going to be funding? Any insight as to what RA don't like?

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Do the rebels have the contracts? Or is it just RA now?

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

I was going to say, I hope they have access to more than "$20 to 30 million". That amount might get them onto the field next year, but they are going to need plenty more in the future

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

How far in the future are we talking?

    Queensland Reds 2024

In the context of building on last year's disappointing season 3-3 is a solid start, but it does feel like there has been some missed opportunities. Pluses, the maul is an absolute weapon, always the sign of a well coached team. Ambition and scoring points has generally been great. The tactics...

Given RA own the licenses for both Tahs and Rebels, there wouldn't need to be any release etc or similar done would there? RA are paying his salary no matter what Doesn't the assumption have to be that the Tahs don't want him either

    Round 6: Reds v Brumbies

Wilson blends in at the Reds but when he wears the red headgear but in gold it really makes it easy to track his movement around the field, or for that game against NZ a couple of years ago where his papers were stamped, his lack of movement. He needs a nice gold version so he can hide more

    Round 6: Reds v Brumbies

As an aside, i would love to see the stats on how often the team that dominates the metres made ends up losing the match. It must be a negative correlation with actually winning games
