    Wallabies 2024

Don't know about that. Wallaby training squad almost always held in early/mid April during the Super Rugby bye rounds. I think we will hear some early thoughts pretty soon

    Round 5 : Force v Reds - Perth

Play of the day...at 22:10 on the clock. Tom Horton drops Wilson with a beauty of a tackle in mid-field and then 3 phases later, he and Stewart put another huge hit on Hunter Paisami. Stewart completes the tackle, turns over the ball, and kicks to 2m out all in one motion for the counter-ruck...

    Round 5 : Force v Reds - Perth

Nick White is such a a good player. Force are competitive when he's on the field and nowhere when he's not
  4. Strewthcobber

    Round 5 : Force v Reds - Perth

That's a coach killer of a miss from Donno

    Round 5: Drua v Waratahs - Saturday 12pm AEDT

Tahs are two really close kicks off from a very good start to the season. Instead they could be about to lose their coach. The margins at this level are so tight

    Round 5: Hurricanes v Rebels - Friday 22/3 - 5pm AEDT

LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto), is another guy who has come back from huge NH plaudits to return to pretty much what he was when he left here, a fringe Wallaby who isn't fulfilling his promise. What's the go? Do we just not see the regular play up north, just the highlights? Is he not fit? being used wrong? Is it the...

    League Targets

It's interesting to look back at that 2007 U19 WC squad One or two, what-could-have-beens, a couple of legends, a couple of very good Wallabies, some solid Super Rugby and pro careers Forwards (starting with the front row): Albert Anae (Queensland), Ben Daley (Queensland), Tetera Faulkner (Australian...

    Concussions and Protecting Our Players

It's definitely coming. I coach underage soccer, and while there's no ban yet, we don't train headers and are encouraged to avoid them

    Concussions and Protecting Our Players

We will need to be careful with that line of thinking. AFL and league could go hardline "no contact" above the shoulders. They wouldn't like it, but it could be done. I don't think rucks in our sport are possible if you take a "zero tolerance" head contact approach. There's multiple low impact...

    Queensland Reds 2024

JOC (James O'Connor) was a bit of a liability in defence last year too, he just wasn't quick enough to cover a lot of his assignments. Hopefully the layoff has helped with the ankle, but old man hammy issues aren't exactly a good sign speed-wise

    Australian Rugby / RA

The whole thing is so frustrating isn't it. English clubs spend money they don't have to recruit Australian players, and blowing up their comp due to finances and our competitiveness as we lose all our depth. I hope the players are getting their money's worth

    Australian Rugby / RA

Sounds like, with Newcastle (UK) cutting 20 players this week, Super Rugby may not even be the only rugby comp losing a team in the next couple of weeks. The sports world looks a lot different with 4.5% interest than it does with 0% interest rates

    Wallabies 2024

Presumably Rory sat home watching his brother while wiping the tears away with $1.5m worth of 10000 yen notes

    Ballymore Redevelopment

As far as I can see, with the completion of the western stand, that means there are no plans to do anymore at Ballymore. It isn't in any of the planning docs etc, and hasn't been identified for any funding This was from a year ago when the eastern stand was shut. Have I missed something?

    Waratahs 2024

Is the Japanese League at a level where you could be confident that a 25 year old who played a handful of Super Rugby games 4 years ago, would be up to starting for the Brumbies (or any Super Rugby side)?
  16. Strewthcobber

    Wallabies 2024

If we had a Whitelock and Retallick we wouldn't be having this conversation......
  17. Strewthcobber

    Australian Rugby / RA

A lot of the refs have simply been making the team with the ball at the back play on.
  18. Strewthcobber

    Round 5 : Force v Reds - Perth

That's not good. Just back from the last one wasn't he? Was this last week's game or from training?
  19. Strewthcobber

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

What if you were a provincial Irish rugby club seeking to replace your marquee international front rower who is moving to France?
  20. Strewthcobber

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Every Australian Super Rugby player is in a three-way contract, even those not on a top-up, but at the moment it'd be the administrator + RA + Player, wouldn't it? MRRU have no role
