    Shute Shield 2010

The emus seems to be having a run of respectable scores. Just luck of the draw or are they making progress?

    Wallaby Squad Predictions 2010!

This seems to be the most attacking backline that we can come up with, but does it have the right balance? Looks to weighted to light weight attacking players to me. Who is going to make that 3-4 mtres against a set defensive line that will give us time to clear the ball?

    Reds v Highlanders, Brisbane

I went up to watch gthe brumbeis red game last year even though I am a tahs fan. Trust me this has been a great season for the reds compared to the dross of the last 5 years or so.

Waratahs v Hurricanes, SFS - Revenge of the Dell

Just to clarify my comments about biggayAl, I am far from convinced that he is at fault when the scrums collapse and think he has been pretty good this season, but the forensic analysis of cause and effect hasn't mattered in the past and won't matter again in the future when it comes to tests...

Waratahs v Hurricanes, SFS - Revenge of the Dell

I thought Pocock was very generous to Baxter at scrum time given the number of collapses and resets and it seemed to be his side of the scrum that was the issue. 4 minutes into the second half we had two scrums and about 3 phases of play due to the time taken to keep Schwalger and Baxter on...

G&GR Waratahs Player of the Match (v Canes)

Carter was used and performed well last night, but this included spending alot of the time on attack on the wing (swapping with Schmoo) while being at 12 in defence and shutting down Maa. Not a supacentre, that was horne who contributed strongly in both attack and defence but Tom did his job...

    Reds v Highlanders, Brisbane

I had presumed that the reds would be out of the running if both the tahs and saders won, but now I see that the reds need to beat the highlanders by 111 points (securing a BP) and then hope that the stormers lose with no BP to sneak into 4th place? Lets see the BBQ entertainers at work!

    The Hickey Must go thread

you probably need to bump the Hickey must stay thread as well, as that seemed to attract more of the negative posts for some reason.

The run home: the comp gets serious

I think you are right to be nervous about the saders blue, not inly because they are hitting form (except maybe for carter) but also because I suspect resting 14 players this week will do the bulls more harm than good.

Waratahs v Hurricanes, SFS - Revenge of the Dell

A great qtr final game and a strong performance across the park by the tahs. The game had everything from the fans POV, except maybe for a stink. I thought one or two of our tries were a bit arsey, but the canes scrambling defence was also impressive and prevented what might have been a real...

    Melbourne Rebels 2011

Re: Rebels deadline ends, update here on what you hear. Fringe Force player Josh Tatupu (also off souths rebels) is off countract now and would assumedly be talking with the Mexican rebels re next year

The run home: the comp gets serious

I can understand why the bulls have rested so many, but I personally wouldn’t have done it especially given the bulls home semi is not actually at home. The tahs did the same thing in 2002, got spanked by the saders in the last round match that meant nothing and then put in a limp wristed finals...

Benn Robinson gone ............................... 6 weeks min.

Maafu has been alright for the brums as well with Benn at LH. Dunning is still there or thereabouts, so we should have replacements but it just won't be the same withouth fat cat. The good news is that he should be back by the 3N.

Matt Giteau avoids suspension, fined $5k

I am ok with a $5k fine, a suspension would have been harsh. A fine plus a suspended sentence would have been fair but suspended sentences down't work well in rugby

    Brumbies Vs Reds. Canberra.

These comments by Giteau suggest there is a lot more trouble in the paradise that is Brumbyland than meets the eye. As recently as Sunday I still thought the brumbies would roll the red cVnts this week but with Elsom having no friends and now Giteau's outburst I think the Reds will prevail on...
