    Another Giteau thread

I concur. Looks to me like Rocky singled Gits out as he expected him to be able to help solve the problem, although his comment in the post match conference was somewhat ominous.

G&GR Wallabies Player of the Match vs Ireland, Brisvegas

3 Pocock 2 Quade 1 Fainga'a As a small subpoint, I thought we smashed the irish in the scrum last night but Bryce did his best to protect the irish 8 from humiliation. The irish really were poo

    Robbie Deans Report Card

I flip and flop on Deans every day. Some days I think he is a musical genius* who has invested heavily for the future and come 2011 we are likely to have 2 strong contenders for each and every postion and either one will be of international quality. Othertimes I think he is a nut case who...

    Baxter (would be) out

Al's injured and will miss most of the 3N, although this is probably academic only.

    Wallabies V Ireland, Brisbane

With sharpe out, who is going to be the "hard" yards go to man?

    Wallabies V Ireland, Brisbane

Aint that the truth! Boom tish. I see your first statement as being a subset of mine as concentration/nerves can be the only reason why Giteau would miss that kick. My thoughts about retaining the same team is to see how they bounce back and try and get some continuity, confidence...

    Wallabies V Ireland, Brisbane

I would only make injury enforced changes for this game. Burgess in for Genia and AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) for Ioane. The causes of our loss on the weekend were more mental rather than physical and I don’t know if Deans know how to solve this.

Wallabies player of the match VS England (2) @ Homebush

Very hard this week as everyone had good and bad moments 3 Pocock 2 Maafu (thought his work round the field was good and scrummaging was much improved) 1 Cooper

    Wallabies vs England, Sydney

The thing that once again disappoints me is our ability to close out games once we get in winnable positions. Its been a problem for us since Deans took over but we don't seem to be making forward progress. Its easy to blame Giteau for the loss, so I will. He is becoming the Darryl Cullinan...

    Wallabies vs England, Sydney

I don't know why this is bugging me but it its. Rugbyreg, how is the reg part pronounced? Reg as in regulator, or reg as in reginald, or reg as in red spelt wrong but you haven't noticed yet?

    Wallabies vs England, Sydney

I am really looking forward to the game and it will be far from the usual dribble that is served up at Homebush in the corresponding test each year. Our scrum will be better but will still be a weakness. Only question is whether it completely disintegrates per last week or is passable. We...

    Wallabies front row

Some interesting (and IMO insightful) comments from Blades and Evans. We don't seem to hear things like this from Noriega........... Taken from: http://www.foxsports.com.au/story/0,8659,27280192-5016959,00.html

Poll : Should the Wallabies revert to the old guard in the front row?

I voted Yes but No would be equally representative of my views – this probably reflects the near 50:50 result. I think Baxter should be in the squad and I would have him on the bench for this weekend. However I would persist with youth with starting. This is the perfect case of your damned if...

    Robbie Deans Report Card

Yeah I would go with Weekes at TH. LH would be who ever performs best of out Cowan and Slipper tonight, or Daly if they both Slipper and Cowan perform poorly. I would probably keep Maafu as the reserve prop, unless both Cowan and Slipper perform well tonight in which case the loser would get...

Fatprop, who you you pick for positions 1 to 3 for this weekend?

    Wallabies vs England, Sydney

Baxter has been a penalty magnet at internatiuonal level for 5 years now, baring one EOYT. The bledisloe last year at homebush was the last straw for Deans when Baxter started getting pinged from very early in the game. The fairness of this has been debated at length, but its irrelevant if the...

    Wallabies front row

The scrums got better towards the end of both halves, I think the poms got tired. Baxter has to be in the mix, either starting or on the bench. However, is he fit and why isn't he playing for norths?

    Wallabies vs England, Perth

Just watched the first penalty try again. Scrum 1, Daley's side of the scrum gets completely splintered - Daley and Mumm end up being spat out the side of the scrum. Owens probably blows it a bit early as the poms were almost certain to drive over and score but arguably owens blows it for...

    Robbie Deans Report Card

I am not sure if there is any desire to be fair to deans, but if there is, then I think his point is that he is giving the front row credit for not letting getting reamed at scrum time impact the rest of their game. He also says they will have learned alot about how to scrummage. Both are fair...
