In other sad news, another past NZ rugby character, Stormin' Norm Berryman passed away today. He had a few wonderful years at the Crusaders. Some say he should've played more test rugby, but despite that, he had a wonderful following from fans across the country. Thoughts go to his whanau.

Watch how these guys scrum, they're all bopping their heads up like apples in a bucket. Smith was even doing it in the Barbarians game. You think Cheika saying "don't do it" will somehow change what these guys have been doing for years. I don't think so.

And what happens when there is a scrum in the back end of the game? There will be three Aussie forwards all with their heads up not pushing in the scrum, looking to see which way the opposition is going to pass the ball. Meanwhile the scrum will be going backwards at a rate of knots........

On the Beale discussion, I would be very surprised if he didn't make the WC squad. Here is a player that can seemingly can make a Wallaby squad when it is inconceivable that he shouldn't. Resilience counts for something here :)

It's not the conference system that is the problem. It's the bonus points. Scrap the bonus points, the Tahs, Chiefs, Landers are all on 10 wins and 5 losses. It's the Stormers that have the 2nd best record but are 3rd???

Agree. Cooper doesn't seem to be "running" the play. Backline looks well disorganised and that is a reflection of what is happening predominantly at 9 and 10.

It wasn't a ruck though because the previous play was just a tackle and as the Reds player (who hadn't joined the tackle to make it a ruck) went in to compete for the ball that was on the ground, he could do so from any angle he liked. It didn't "look" right, but the ref got that one right in...
