    Palmer Gooone - Douglas Stays

Agree. Either Salesi has got a whole lot better or Woodcock has got a whole lot worse. Probably a bit of both. Now we just need to get Salesi's brother in a team somewhere. I just love the idea of a guy with a name like Campese playing in the front row.

    Waratahs 2011

Depends if Palu stays or goes. If he stays then both will have to go to make room for the 2 Macs. If he stays and one has to go, I think it is more likely Coridas as he hasn't done much (at least partly due to injury). Alcock looks to be a real goer and looks to me like a bloke who hasn't had a...

    Tahs v Force

Hey Noddy, aren't you the guy who said sarcasm didn't come across so well in print? But, fair enough, I may have exaggerated a bit as Fairbrother did pretty well against Daley who still has a long way to go at scrum time. However, on the other side I was absolutely gobsmacked at what Henderson...

    Tahs v Force

Palmer has been playing JWs and demolished Shepherdson last week so has some match fitness. If he gets on it will be at THP against Henderson and Palmer will have no problem with him. The Force scrum is only holding together because of Fairbrother and Fatcat will look after him. Whatever happens...

    Waratahs 2011

I don't know about McCaffrey but I know that the Rebels were definitely chasing Ryan. He must have impressed Damian Hill last year at Uni.

Re: Rebels deadline ends, update here on what you hear. I hear he hates living in Qld. And I thought props were supposed t be dumb! ;)

    Players Leaving

The talent is not that thick on the ground that you can leave out a guy like Weeks just because he is moving on. Palmer only gets bench time if anyone is injured anyway (that's why he's going) and if they decide to ignore him for the rest of the season what do they do if they get an injury...

    Melbourne Rebels 2011

Re: Rebels deadline ends, update here on what you hear. Couldn't agree more. Although, BA really surprised me with how well he has played at THP. Sometimes I think we just need a permanent props thread on this thing.

    Melbourne Rebels 2011

Re: Rebels deadline ends, update here on what you hear. You probably need a good LHP as well so that the good THP on the other side doesn't get bored. ;)

    Australian Team of Round 5

Yeah, but come on. Look at the tape, Weeks bitched him all game. The only reason they maintained respectability at scrum time was Fairbrother getting over Daley on the other side.

    Rod Davies

Fair play, Noddy. 2 years it was. Unfortunately at my age a year here or there doesn't mean much. ;)

    Tahs v Force

To be fair to "Dud" he sustained a syndesmosis injury of an ankle and hasn't trained or played in 3 weeks. These injuries (which for some reason seem to becoming very common) can mean anything from a couple of weeks in a moon boot to surgery and 6 months rehab. I think his is at the lower end of...

    Rod Davies

He was certainly a fantastic counter attacking fullback when he played Aus Schools in 06. His stint in league was only 1 year in 07 so wasn't really enough to influence him. He is still only 21 and looks pretty good to me. Spots a hole and hits it hard and backs up the half break.

    Australian Team of Round 5

I thought Henderson (one of the improvers this season) and the Force scrum did really well and got the better of the Reds. Daley is wonderful around the field, but doesn't do a lot at scrum time, he didn't trouble Fairbrother. Fair point. Fairbrother did do well on his side against Daley.

    Australian Team of Round 5

I think you and the ref were the only that missed Henderson's arse pointing to the sideline for the whole game. The only way he survived was by using the cheap "turning in" trick.

    Australian Team of Round 5

Let me say up front that I am a Baxter fan, and he is currently in career best form but how can you pick him for team of the week? He was hobbling for the last 10 mins of the first half and was replaced at half time by Kepu. He got a couple of minutes at the end for Robinson but spent most of...

    Waratahs 2011

I reckon it's a full contract and I suspect Coridas is the one to make way for him. Has had a bad run with injury but hasn't really lived up to the hype. Was on the bench for JWs on the weekend and didn't get a lot of time.

    Palmer Gooone - Douglas Stays

I think it was actually a 1+1 deal he had at the tahs and I think he's got the same at the Brumbies. At his request.

    Palmer Gooone - Douglas Stays

Getting back to Palmer. He is certainly a good scrummager, but doesn't offer a whole lot around the park. That may improve. With the tahs he was no 4 prop as Kepu was on the bench most weeks. The only reason he got game time last year was because Dunning, Kepu and Baxter were all injured at the...
