    Heineken Cup 2013/14

Good draw for Leinster, going away to Castres is alot easier when they'll probably be out of the running for qualification. I would like to think that Leinster will be somewhere around 14 points at the end of the 4 games however Ospreys are their bogey team and Northampton have strengthened in...

Wallabies Squad - the Link Era

I don't think you'd need to shoehorn Lilo into the 15 jersey for his place kicking. He is the best 12 available to the Wallabies at the moment. If Folau is fit he should be the 15, that's where he has played his best rugby and the position where he'll get his hands on the ball as much as...

    Brumbies vs Cheetahs Prelim 2

Higher ranked qualifier gets home advantage.

    Brumbies vs Cheetahs Prelim 2

Delighted the Brumbies won this hopefully they can back it up in Pretoria. On a side note, how awesome is Willie Le Roux? Every time he popped up at first or second receiver the Cheetahs threat level just seemed to soar.

    2013 – ITM CUP - NZ's 3rd Tier Competition

Tom Sexton, hooker that the Rebels signed from Leinster. They are no relation as far as I know

    Waratahs 2014

A similar story surfaced a couple of weeks ago. I doubt that they'd be able to vote this in this year let alone in a few weeks. It could be a factor when Izzys contract is next up for renewal, but if his form in the next few years is anything like this season there will be some French and...

    Reds 2014

Due to Ireland being the tax haven that it is if BOD, or any Irish player, plays out their last contract in Ireland they receive 40% of their tax payed over their career in Ireland back. It rules out any Irish player coming south for a pre retirement jaunt unfortunately. On a side note though...

Rugby League players who could have/could make the switch

From Guardian: Some good stats for him considering he was only on the pitch for 30 seconds, pity he'll be banned from ANZ now he isn't worth the investment if he can't play in our games there.

    NSW Barbarians tour to Argentina

I was thinking the same myself, I wouldn't be surprised to see some late withdrawals from the squad once the RC championship squad is announced. Cheika probably anticipates this given the size of the touring party for a 2 match tour.

    Waratahs 2013

I don't think its that unreasonable that Fox Sports won't show them, they are friendlies featuring the second and third string. However if they are on Argentine TV it would be nice for the Tahs to stream it on their website or something but I doubt the intern would be bothered arranging that.

    Waratahs 2013

The first game is August 3rd in Resistencia which is near the Paraguayan border and the second is on the 9th/10th in Salta

What do you make of Benji Marshal to rugby?

Interestingly we haven't heard Cheika say anything on this, but he has been all over the Beale and Izzy signings in public. I'd like to think as the head coach he'd get the chance to veto any players he doesn't want/need and Benji Marshall would fit firmly into this category.

    Australia 'A' / Aus Baabaas ?

Can't imagine the next time they get a game unless the French decide to play them when they tour next summer. Sadly, as you've alluded to OP, money will probably prevent this side from appearing which is unfortunate as it is a very good development tool.

What do you make of Benji Marshal to rugby?

Too late for him to make the switch IMO, he'd be best going to Japan and making good coin whilst not getting bashed in defense most weeks. That said he has ambitions to play for the All Blacks and Kirwan has said he is interested so I'd assume that the Blues will be the destination. He could be...

    Waratahs 2014

Apologies, it was the Fijian bloke I was talking about. I know we'd get him on the cheap, but all his potential is based on the fact that he is big and quick, surely there are young wingers who've played the game all their life that the money would be better invested in. That said I wouldn't...

    Waratahs 2014

Is this the downside to Folaus success? Every rugby league player having contract issues is going to be linked with a move to heavens game? That said physically he looks like he has the goods but there have been enough failed converts to show that those aren't any precursor to success. I'd...

Rugby League players who could have/could make the switch

I think initially he'll go to Japan, just hoping he doesn't end up at the Tahs. Don't need him and the money would be better spent elsewhere

2013 Waratahs under Cheika - Report Card

There are a few areas that need improvement if we are to take the next step: 1- Kicking game: ie develop one, its fine if running is always option number 1 but particularly in tight game we need an out and too often our clearing kicks seem to be kicked in hope that they may turn out well for...

    Waratahs V Reds July 13 2013

I think in the published accounts they received $1.3 million for the games there last year.

    Waratahs 2014

Beale has officially been let go by the Rebels, I guess we'll be announcing his signing for the next season soon.
