    Lions Tour 2013

Dai, I'd have Hibbard, Jones, AWJ, Faletau, North, Halfpenny and Tipuric in my test team. Warburton did have a good second test but an awful lot of game time was invested in him, for example if Tipuric had been afforded the same opportunity how do we know he wouldn't have produced two test...

Australia v British & Irish Lions, 3rd Test (Sydney)

Adam Jones is hard done by I think as is Ben Mowen and maybe Hooper too. I think North and Halfpenny probably have a few votes too many, as do JOC (James O'Connor) and Sexton.

Australia v British & Irish Lions, 3rd Test (Sydney)

It was a similar atmosphere in the Celtic Club in Melbourne after the game, although a replay was on everyone was in great spirits!

Australia v British & Irish Lions, 3rd Test (Sydney)

Braveheart81 said: ↑ I think the reality tomorrow night will be that the stadium will still be chock-a-block full of Lions fans who will all be making a ton of noise. I think any Irish person who has a ticket to the game will be well and truly over any angst or upset they're feeling about the...

Australia v British & Irish Lions, 3rd Test (Sydney)

I think the WoC point was more that they wouldn't be cut up if the Lions lost and it'd be better for the sport if the Wallabies won given they are the only team trying to play rugby

Australia v British & Irish Lions, 3rd Test (Sydney)

The only problem with the cross field kick is that the Wallabies probably don't have a kicker skilled enough to land it right on the point where Folau can attack it at his aerial peak (if that makes sense!). The ones they have tried seem like speculative lobs so far where they are giving the...

Australia v British & Irish Lions, 3rd Test (Sydney)

Not too sure about that, I'm struggling to think of a game against one of the big 3 that he has truly dominated in the past couple of year maybe South Africa in the World Cup? He is at his best when his backrow are on top and Phillips is giving him quick ball. If the Wallabies can slow down...

A difference is that Smith had form before his injury whilst Roberts has none to speak of

Australia v British & Irish Lions, 3rd Test (Sydney)

I think given the likely gameplan it would be Cuthbert, but it would be nice to see BOD come off the bench and win the game

    Lions Tour 2013

Yes he played well last week, but that doesn't erase the fact that he was picked as tour captain off probably his worst season since emerging and patchy performances in the warm ups and first test. I think he is a very talented player at the top of his game, however he hasn't consistently been...

    Lions Tour 2013

I actually said Halfpenny was shackled by the tactics, if he was allowed to counter attack he'd be a damn good 15 but he just kicks the ball away. If kicking goals makes you the player of the series then you have some low expectations of our players. FWIW AWJ is probably my MOTS for the Lions...

Stole it from twitter, nothing better for Irish people than getting morally outraged about something!

    Lions Tour 2013

Why? Davies has been terrible in the test series despite playing 13 for most of the tests, Roberts isn't fit and has been woeful for nearly a year. Halfpenny is no better than a robotic kicking leg because he is shackled by the tactics and Bowe and North are being used as kick chasers. If Smith...

    Lions Tour 2013

Who else is going to run the lineout if Parling isn't there? Messers Gatland, Howley and Rowntree should be the ones taking the flack if the Lions lose, selection and mainly tactics are the big problems The one lock they should have taken is Nathan Hines, the man is an animal!

    Lions Tour 2013

Davies lined up with 12 on his back but spent most of those two tests at 13. It suggests to me that if Roberts hadn't of gotten injured BOD wouldn't have made the test team.

Australia v British & Irish Lions, 3rd Test (Sydney)

In the lead up to each test match I've given a quick overview of where the Lions can attack, still depressed after the team announcement but here it goes: 1- Scrum: Lions have picked a monstrous pack with one thing in mind, attacking the Australian scrum. This is a tactic frequently used by...

Australia v British & Irish Lions, 3rd Test (Sydney)

In the same way Gatland is gambling on a one dimensional team with no plan B, Dingo is gambling that if history won't repeat itself and he'll have fresh forwards to counter anything that the Lions are boshing up the middle. One gamble is a good calculated one, the other is (in Einsteins words)...

Rugby League players who could have/could make the switch

He was ok, mixed the good with the bad I thought. To be honest he always looked like a league half back playing union to me

Rugby League players who could have/could make the switch

I suppose keep forgetting the amount of RL Thorne played. In SBW's case Toulon would have to take a lot of the credit, by the time he arrived in NZ to play for Canterbury he'd honed a lot of the basics there and was already a cracking player albeit with some rough edges.

Rugby League players who could have/could make the switch

The Blues are looking for him to play 10 as well, signing a RL player to play in the outside backs is risky enough but signing one to play 10! Thats madness in my book
