The chat about inflation of wages is stupid and clickbait for a manager. If Wrights manager can show competition for his signature at over $1m and the associated value on field and off that he would generate, then by all means go for it. But if his value in the market in $500-700k then that’s...

Happy for the people selected on the referring panel however isn’t this part of the problem with rugby? Why are we making such a promotional activity out of the refs? Their appointments should be low key and fans should know little about their personalities or styles come game day. Obviously the...

100% wait till they find out the coach doesn’t actually do a traditional coaching role any more. Some of these guys will be limited fly in fly out situations and not on huge salaries like some people might think they are. We really have some way to go as a code for people to understand what...

Don’t the Aus Super Rugby clubs already have an MOU with Japanese clubs? Hence the Japanese tours last year for the Rebels, Force and Reds, can’t remember if Tahs and Brums did. Let’s see what happens, the NZR also signed a contract with Harlequins 4-5yrs ago and exactly 0 has happened on that front.

He said in post match that he didn’t think it was of any concern. But you never know what scans might reveal
  6. Wallaby Man

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

I thought he might be a sneaky chance for Rugby Champ squad but the ban might cruel chance to push case in last few weeks. His athleticism is great and very good in the line out. Hits hard as well which Eddie loves

    Rebels 2023

As much as we (or i specifically) can come across as negative at times, it definitely isn’t a reflection of what the people at the Rebels are trying to do. I personally think you are all doing a great job given the resources and situation all the teams are in. Rebels are best in the business...

Hopefully stays fit for the remaining 4 games to reach 100. Would be a shame if wallaby resting policy deprived him of the 100 mark

Similar in that sense, although I’d say the Swans have reached a level of support above the Storm.

    Rebels 2023

Yeh, it’s false information or they live in a stereotype bubble if people say they aren’t. The decade I lived in Melb every office I worked in had some knowledge of the storm and a passing interest from most ‘sports’ fans. They always know a couple of the big name players to be able to hold a...

Taking it back to the Rebels. I’m now back in QLD after a decade in Melb, but remember there was a time when people were complaining about the announcer and music on at the stadium. Haven’t heard the same at Reds yet, but I’m sure the voices are there. It’s all very strange for a sport...

True I also love my American sports, currently watching NBA finals. Finding a child in the crowd is like a where’s Wally experience. Obviously they are there but well and truly out numbered. Was reading a while ago one of the Top 14 clubs turns a portion of the field into a night club after the...

100% they engage their younger audience with strong social media and video games. More interested in been cool within pop culture which is honestly more impactful in 2023

    Rebels 2023

I have never understood the need to appease the ‘family’ demographic in the game day experience. Personally think it should be catered towards people with disposable cash and clearly identify a clear target audience that will engage with all aspects of the club from Mon-Sun. Aus and NZ have an...

If it was just Melbourne then there could be a suggestion that is true, but unfortunately the trend is across the country. Which would indicate it’s not a Socino-economic reason but an engagement one with the product at a national level.

The same working class people that watch rugby are the same ones that also religiously watch the NRL and have been attending games

    Australian Rugby / RA

Agreed. We obviously are looking for excuses because as fans we don’t like the reality some times. Crowds are by and large back with a bang, NRL, AFL are as strong as they have ever been with crowds. Big Bash saw some recovery in crowds last year. Super Rugby unfortunately is with the A-League...

Better option than nothing but still ‘gimmickie’. 4 game SRAU + final then a small 2-3 game tour of Japan. We’d be set if that was possible.

    Rebels 2023

This is where a SRAU comp at the end of the season would be so valuable for players like Vaihu and Ripley. Because we will probably lose Ioane we need one of these guys to get a serious run around before next season, instead they are playing against Laborers, accountants and plumbers on the weekend.
