    Rebels 2023

Interesting that Foote said in post match press conference this week that Gordon has been carrying a hip injury and hasn’t been participating in aspects of training at the start of the week for a while now. Didn’t say it was a concern, just needs to be managed.

    Rebels v Brumbies 2.35pm 07/05

Agreed. Rebels kick chase is close to worst in comp. Only Ioane offers good pressure but is mediocre under high ball. Brumbies identified Talakai yesterday from drop outs and capitalized numerous times with his poor mobility. It’s an area they will be working on, they probably win comfortably...

    Rebels v Brumbies 2.35pm 07/05

Agreed I think Eddie will love it. We need considerably more of it as a game
  4. Wallaby Man

    Rebels v Brumbies 2.35pm 07/05

Best on field were Gordon, Valetini, Wright and Kemeny
  5. Wallaby Man

    Rebels v Brumbies 2.35pm 07/05

Even at the end, Brumbies player counter rucks but doesn’t clear the Rebels man over the ball. Then Lonergan comes from the side and kicks it out. Doleman lost complete control. Why Rebels didn’t take scrum option with Uelese and Eloff on field is very strange.
  6. Wallaby Man

    Rebels v Brumbies 2.35pm 07/05

God rebels are dumb. Opposition loses a player and they go for a fucking tap.
  7. Wallaby Man

    Rebels v Brumbies 2.35pm 07/05

Ruck interpretation is a disgrace. Not favoring either side but shocking
  8. Wallaby Man

    Rebels v Brumbies 2.35pm 07/05

Scrum half coming within 10 before maul off mark
  9. Wallaby Man

    Crusaders v Force 06/05/2023

It was more a reference to historical performance. But fair enough although all 3 wins have been against the bottom 4 teams. Hopefully continues as I want a stronger Force. Currently every team in Super Rugby would sign up to play Force in WA than Drua in Fiji, if given the option. Most teams would be...

    Crusaders v Force 06/05/2023

The travel thing is obviously a huge disadvantage away from home but it equally should be a massive advantage at home. We haven’t ever really seen that materialize in Super Rugby. The Drua who are equally isolated are showing the home benefits of tyranny of distance, we need to get the Force to that level

SRP (Super Rugby Pacific) 2023 General Chat

Just like Hamish McLennan uses the Australian as his unofficial mouthpiece Paul Cully is the unofficial mouthpiece for the NZR and the respective NZ super teams. There is clearly a play for power going on behind the scenes. In the past few weeks we have had numerous articles stating Hamish is...

SRP (Super Rugby Pacific) 2023 General Chat

Super Round this year was the 5th March so hardly different. I grant you temps were shocking but been from Brisbane there was little to no interest from the rugby community to attend before they knew the weather. My point was there isn’t a desire for it anywhere. As for bars, the Melbourne...

SRP (Super Rugby Pacific) 2023 General Chat

Unfortunately the issue with Super Round isn’t the locals attending, it’s the willingness of fans outside the locals to travel. You’d get slightly better attendance in Brisbane but Super Rugby lacks engagement with fans that nobody from Sydney, Perth, Canberra, Melbourne or NZ would travel for it...

    Brumbies 2024

Exactly how I read the situation. A example of a situation where he was on $700k, RA were contributing $550 of that and Brums making up the rest. Now they offering $250k and Brums only have $150k to chip in. Force able to offer $250k to bring it up to $500k, which is closer to his market value...

    Brumbies 2024

Article in the SMH states that he is disappointed in the offer from both RA and the Brumbies, was contemplating heading overseas but the Force have come in with an offer that’s worth considering. Maybe I’m interpreting this wrong but I’d say he’s been offered the same RA top up but Force...

SRP (Super Rugby Pacific) 2023 General Chat

This is one of the issues I have with Cully’s writing. He’s very NZ centric which is fine because it’s his main audience, however no mention of who the NZR are wanting to lead the independent board. Perhaps Hamish is hesitant because he feels it might not truly be independent because they are...

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Leota at 8. Think we will see Ekuasi play off the bench when at full strength

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Kemeny is the nailed on 6. Hosea I’d bet the house he will stay at Rebels if in Australia. Have consistently heard murmurs around Philip to Tahs for a few weeks now.

    Australian Rugby / RA

I think he’s trying to say that you could be replaced given time and training in your role by someone that could do 99.9% of what you do. In sport you can’t teach 6’4, or sub 11sec or be an athletic freak. Unfortunately in sport good character, hard work and sometimes even intelligence doesn’t...

    Wallabies 2023

I’m going to call it. He’s the Rob Simmons of no.8s. Good player, effort is 110%, does all the things you’d want. But is a little passive and cuddly compared to what others in his position offer. Btw definitely not saying not wholehearted or can’t do a job, just isn’t clattering bodies around...
