Force Vs Waratahs, Round 17 - Saturday 15th July, NIB Stadium

Good question. After this weekend, I'm having to assess that carefully.

Force Vs Waratahs, Round 17 - Saturday 15th July, NIB Stadium

The total joke is that the ARU think 'the key problem' is 'must cull Force or Rebels' when the far, far bigger problem is the clear incompetence of the QRU and NSWRU and the coaches and teams they are appointing........and thus the results being delivered to rapidly dwindling numbers of paying fans.

Force Vs Waratahs, Round 17 - Saturday 15th July, NIB Stadium

Davis rivalling Clyne for arrogant, supercilious, insight-less, insensitive, elitism. Same disease, same results.

Force Vs Waratahs, Round 17 - Saturday 15th July, NIB Stadium

QH - as you know I am compiling a 200 page dictionary of 'Australian rugby excuses (mostly incredible) for utter incompetence in coaching and management'. Can you please urgently send me what you think will be 'the best ones' coming on board re the Tahs and their coaches come Monday. Many thanks.

    Australian Rugby / RA

As you say TOCC, looks good 'on a quick look' (let alone why such a role was not constructed a decade + ago, talk about years after the horse has bolted when we see how, for example, NZ rugby has progressed in that period. We are already like a slowing sinking ship, having hit 3 icebergs, taking...

    Rebels 2017

Such a happy, well managed situation isn't it.

    Rebels V Jaguares - AAMI Park - 14th July

Wouldn't it be fair though to say that the Rebels are defending markedly better than did the Tahs?

    Rebels V Jaguares - AAMI Park - 14th July

3,000 crowd? It feels sad. I vividly recall their first ever game - such excitement, hope, expectation of a future as yet untold.

    Rebels V Jaguares - AAMI Park - 14th July

Foxtel comms announcing some kind of VRU buy out of the Rebels from Cox backed by a 'private consortium'. 'ARU must still approve'. Yeah, right.

Highlanders v Reds, Round 17, July 14. Party at Tony Brown's.

Agree - Reds 2.0 should be rebuilt around them with new seasoned coaches and we'd have something that could grow and improve quite quickly.

Highlanders v Reds, Round 17, July 14. Party at Tony Brown's.

I'd agree the Reds are 'running around a lot more' than they did under Graham.

To those who still think Stiles is a good HC, please help me understand where, from Game 1 2017 to tonight, the Reds have notably improved as a team in terms of skills, attacking accuracy, kicking, and so on.

Highlanders v Reds, Round 17, July 14. Party at Tony Brown's.

If we are happy to wait for a few (or more?) years and indulge this coaching group up a supposed 'learning and personal development' cycle whilst also asking Reds' fans to pay good money to watch this slow coach-learn-and-grow cycle unfold as their main entertainment vs sighting serious...

Highlanders v Reds, Round 17, July 14. Party at Tony Brown's.

Yes, my whole team and coaching scenario change proposal above was/is moot as we all know that nothing much will change inside the QRU and relatedly inside the current Reds set-up either now or into 2018. These bodies prefer weakness, avoidance and deflection to courageous leadership and...

Highlanders v Reds, Round 17, July 14. Party at Tony Brown's.

No. IMO he's not a particularly good Reds Captain, as loyal and likeable as we know him to be. I also suspect accumulating injuries have badly eroded his rugby athletic potential.

    Rebels 2017

Or, maybe, he exits with little cash but is saved the very large, very high risk new $ investment he knows would certainly be required to rebuild the Rebels so as to have any chance of a financially stabilising on-field and business success by (say) 2020. The negative cash flow needing to be...

Highlanders v Reds, Round 17, July 14. Party at Tony Brown's.

I realise that. My point - perhaps poorly put - was that Link clearly inherited an underperforming Reds team from 2009. He had to assess the entire team construction from Captain down and up again. Often a new HC in need of major change will understandably change Captain (a la EJ (Eddie Jones) on taking...

    Reds 2018

I really doubt that this 'director of coaching' that amirite says will be the TT role at the QRU is, or will be, in fact the case. Why? In 2015 (IIRC) Daniel Herbert was promoted to a new role within the QRU as (something like) Head of Rugby Department. This role was recommended by that year's...
