What's you're definition of a fraction? My understanding, is that they are still full time contracts. We seem to have a better record with players that are returning from their first contract out of School, than the player we sign straight out of school.

Beale was starting in his 1st year with the Tahs. Horwitz never made the match day squad in his first 3 years. If there is no expectation of using them this season, they shouldn't sign them this season.IMO

I haven't seen enough of the kid to make a judgement. school kids such as Beale and Hooper stood out as being a grade above their cohort. they succeeded. The Horwitzs & the Deegans, who were just deemed the best of their age by schoolboy selectors, were not so successful. Is he the former or the...

Outstanding, they did an Africa on Africa without Boyd K. Phenonamel at the breakdown. Kudos.

Just worry about the game changing decisions, or you'll give yourself an ulcer. It's a quick game, the refs make plenty of clangers, my theory is that everyone gets a handful every tournament,My hope each week,is that the ones against my team are inconsequential.

I agree that sometimes it's unavoidable to play them together. my point is that Friend doesn't try to avoid it at all. several times he's put the young bloke on, in a planned sub. with the guy coming off neither being fatigued nor injured. further to that, he lost a ball runner during the week...

Benefit of the doubt? He has a track record, and it's poor, we have consistently underperformed during his tenure. There is no doubt, he's just not up to it. In respect to this week, have a look at Kennewell, then have a look at Connor. Their playing styles vary more than their physical...

The first tournament for the year. We have an injury in the lead up, and the coach replaces him with an uncontracted player. Friends recruitment and selection decisions scream incompetence. That's not a criticism of the incoming player, if he thinks he's the answer this week, why did he sign 8...

    Shute Shield 2018

Couple of things, Firstly the issue is really how to help the Riff to be competitive. As a comp, the SS is strong. Last years Premiers were 11/18 in the regular season, so that's hardly dominant. Secondly, the comp is still largely amateur, if it's determined that a local Rats players has to...

Relax, you wrote it was a big issue. I assumed incorrectly that you were referring to governance, not player distribution. Unfortunately, in regard to distribution, I can't see a solution from within (self interest, and gaming any proposed rule changes), and I can't think of any body external...

How would the NSWRU having a formal say in the SS help anything? Seems to me that the big issues are all about player development, that's already part of the NSWRU's brief, and they are failing.

^^^^ that's a bit unfair. Small to medium community clubs throughout NSW have been absorbed by a few of the powerhouse clubs. Very few have survived let alone thrived. If you want to attack governance, I'd be looking at clubs Financial Reports. How many are readily available? of those that are...

Damage he caused? He was a poor gossip columnist that reported cryptic misdeeds by un named people. His actions didn't stop anyone from attending a game, buying merchandise, or registering to play. the right targets are easy to spot for everyone else, which is pretty much anyone who's featured on...

Seriously, the tone of your reply, is hilarious. I am not a naughty schoolboy that is fibbing to stay out of trouble. And I won't be doing any of the homework you have assigned me. If, as you say, you have access to the books. Look up every state rep in the past 5 years. Pay particular...

That is a special type of hubris. What's the magic in the water at Stanmore? Certainly the first lesson that recruited kids learn, is that rules don't matter. You can make agreements with others with absolutely no intention of keeping your word. If the intention was really to make positive...

    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

^^^^^its not a new development, they've been recruiting from there for some time. They plucked 3 or 4 from one age group out of there, a few years ago. Their idea of holistic at that time, meant that the kids could represent them in more than one sport.

The problem with the NRC and how to fix it

you' re not restating it, you're changing it. yep demographics have changed in selective Schools, and many immigrant parents see little value in sport. however demographics statewide have not changed so dramatically and does not explain the deterioration in participation. as always I...

The problem with the NRC and how to fix it

Talking about selective Schools is a distraction. They are a small minority of public Schools. The fact is that many public schools that used to have a team/s in every age group, no longer have any.
