    CAS Rugby 2013

Hopefully this will work. The link to the CAS. I presume home teams are always listed first. http://www.cas.nsw.edu.au/home/winter-sports/rugby/fixtures/ And the draw: Fixtures CAS 2013 Draw CAS Rd # 1 – Sat 4th May Cranbrook v St. Aloysius’ Knox v Barker Waverley v Trinity CAS Rd #...

    REBELS v CHIEFS Round 12

Missed the 1st half, but what I saw in the 2nd half I really enjoyed. Compared to the league game on an adjoining screen it was a much better spectacle. They may have let in too many points and there may be some issues in the side, but to an impartial observer the Rebels are a great side to...

    CAS Rugby 2013

The fixtures this week are: CAS Rd # 1 – Sat 4th May Cranbrook v St. Aloysius’ Knox v Barker Waverley v Trinity I presume home sides are first. I have only seen Knox play and am thus not that able to give predictions. Barker has been spoken of favourably, based largely on their depth and...

    CAS Rugby 2013

On a brilliant autumn day St Pat’s Strathfield hosted Knox, the two schools playing their A sides. Strathfield seems to be one of those suburbs that reminds one of a 50’s or 60’s Sydney. Wide streets, mostly neat, solid and comfortable houses with settled gardens. Framed by trees that gives...

    CAS expansion

I am actually finding the rejuvenation of this thread quite interesting; with stories and memories of the late 70's. It seems such a long time ago...are we all that old!!!

Waratahs vs Chiefs Super Rugby Rd 10, Fri 19 April 2013

One sight that made me think that this was the Waratahs of olde was the sight of the little medical truck. There was an injury to a Chief's player and the TV went to a shot of two earnest officials at the truck trying to get it started, to come to the rescue. And they tried. And tried. The...

    Waratahs 2014

And some truly impressive eating areas. Last time I was there I had a burger that I couldn't finish. It could have been it was the size of a car tyre, the 'fresh' pineapple was at the best 'fresh-ish', the mince patty contained something that resembled ground teeth, or that I was trying to wash...

Rebels vs Kings Super Rugby R9 - Saturday April 13

And hopefully with continued support the team will improve as time goes by. Regardless of results I still positive aspects of the two new 'junior' sides in Australia. And I don't mind watching them play either!!

    Hurricanes v Force R10 19 April

I don't think the Force have fallen my way in the tipping yet. I do hope they win this, but I really have no idea. Though the way they play and with their miser like defence they should be in it.

    WRITERS WANTED - SCHOOLBOY RUGBY

A question in relation to this, and some thing from the picndrive website set up by 'The Juggler' and a comment from HJ about taking 'the odd polaroid'. Does anyone know what legal requirements or restrictions there may be on reporting schoolboy rugby?Though most of of the writing would be...

    CAS Rugby 2013

I think that is due to only having 5 sides in the comp and the relative sizes of the talent pools for some of the sides. Some schools struggle with depth and thus injuries can knock their side around. These smaller schools are also not the front runners, so the opportunity for them to 'improve'...

    CAS Rugby 2013

I see that 0ver the next few weeks St Pats Strathfield are playing Waverley, Trinity and Knox. They are trial games, but it may be possible to get some relative form there.

    CAS Rugby 2013

With some free time on my hand I wondered back up to Wahroonga to watch the game between Knox and St Peters. Again the game wasn't on the main oval, but rather shunted off to Gillespie. Though not as far as Cliff Oval, I feel it wasn't quite the quality of that place either, being rather small...

    Waratahs vs Force - Super Rugby R7 2013 - Sunday 31st March

I thought that the Tahs just held on. Some of the earlier posts were saying that though they may be a hard side to beat, they will struggle to win as they lack that X-factor. That may be the case, but they showed more "team" flair with some of their moves than the Waratahs. And they had some...

    Waratahs vs Force - Super Rugby R7 2013 - Sunday 31st March

But he was better than Horne at 12 I thought......... He does show potential. I would like to see him in another ranking team aside from the Force. Like Australia A playing in that comp with all the Islander sides and a baby AB side.

    Articles from our blog.

Beale looks far from professional despite being well paid Initially I thought that one of the most esteemed, lucid, modest, insightful and wondrously self-deprecating oracles of rugby had written a piece analysing the whole Kurtley Beale saga and giving sage advice to both KB (Kurtley Beale) and the ARU from...

Knox are playing St Peters on the 3rd. However, I know neither the venue nor time. (This year the venues and playing times are being kept closer than the majority of the Masonic secrets!!)

The dying - perhaps death - of Rugby in Australia.

It will help if the ARU doesn't get itself involved in things like this. http://www.smh.com.au/opinion/political-news/the-line-was-blurred-nine-redefines-waterhouses-role-20130327-2gtis.html Though there are some that say any publicity is good publicity, we don't want to see Rugby sell its...

    CAS Rugby 2013

Having decided to watch Knox versus Marist Canberra, I thought I would add to the vibe of the day by walking from Wahroonga station to Cliff Oval. A pleasant enough task, though I did get waylaid a couple of times by turning down streets only to discover I was meandering down the driveways of...
