Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2013

Australia were far more structured than the Australia A side and that showed in the two games. But you are correct in saying that it will be a good game Australia vs NZ on Saturday. There are some classy players in the Kiwi side and Australia looks a good outfit.

Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2013

The site now has the games starting half an hour earlier. May end up being safer to get there at 9 in the morning with the papers, a good book or so, a couple of sandwiches and a thermos of coffee and wait and see rather than gambling on the accuracy of the website.

    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

Actually the idea or concept of what that theory states is quite simple. And most people would agree with what it states: that the sum of two numbers of the power of n can not be expressed by a number of the same power n for integers greater than 2. The proof is rather more complicated and took...

    Pic needs a caption

He is probably just trying to give Cameron similar ears to Australia's newly elected PM. (Which may also explain why there is so much space between PM Cameron's head and the other lads.) I am no oil painting myself, but the face of guy in the top left looks like to have been in one hard journey.

    Shute Shield 2013

It has been said earlier, but I thought I would add my two cents. I think some of the rugby in the Shute Shield over the last few weeks has been fantastic and great to watch. Well done to all the players! Compared to some of the NRL games over the same period, the Shute Shield games have been...

    Waratahs 2014

In terms of development I see the 2015 season the one in which the Waratahs will be at their best. Hopefully they RWC preparations will not derail them in that year.

New Zealand vs Australia - Bledisloe 2, 24th August 2013

That would be almost like a balmy summer's day for Wellington then

    Beale to Tahs, where?

I find it curious that it is only a one year contract. Though he does say he is looking forward to competing in the next world cup. But, back to the one year contract; though they will be much improved and more Cheika's side this year, I still think it could be one season too early for them...

Smart play. Take the points when available. I think that at this level tries are easier to score and thus they go for that. When I was looking at doing a review I looked at the tries scored by each team and found that 70% of the points scored were by tries.

    Rugby Events For Good Causes

This week Knox Old Boys are raising funds for the Chris O'Brien Lifehouse foundation. They did it last year and raised over $100k. They are doing it again this year, for more info see the link below. http://www.knoxrugby.com.au/event/brothers-iv-brothers As someone who has seen what cancer...

    Rugby Events For Good Causes

Not sure whether a thread exists, but I thought it might be a good idea to start a thread to highlight events that any Rugby Club or team has put on for a decent cause. Whether it is for an injured player, a charity or any worthwhile cause. If members of the Rugby community have selflessly...

    CAS Rugby 2013

I think Knox scored last?? 20 - 14. One of the barker tries did look like it was out of the play book of a grid-iron side, but you are right, Barker were the better side on the day. Their forwards were most impressive and I think they won the game there. The Knox backs a bit better than their...

    CAS Rugby 2013

The Knox fitness does seem an issue. I had observed earlier that from one of their programs that their injury rate in the opens is over 20%. I don't think their fitness issue can be solely slated to their rugby program. Fitness is something that needs work and dedication by the individual...

    CAS Rugby 2013

Looking into the tea leaves, my thoughts: Though the season is finishing quite early, the last round has range of interesting fixtures that should make for some good viewing for the punters. Aloys vs Cranbrrok. I think it is fair to say that whilst both these teams haven't had the results...

    CAS Rugby 2013

Though not totally related some teams with a particular method of play can surprisingly struggle against some teams whilst easily beating other sides who dominate the sides they struggle against. (If that sentence makes sense.........) Not seeing the game Barker vs Aloys, the closeness could...

Knox leading Cranbrook 25 - 7 with 10 to go. Knox should win, but I think there are still pints in this game and Cranbrook showing spirit and determination. I'm off to the final 2nds: Knox 29 - 5

2013 Super Rugby Final - CHIEFS v BRUMBIES

A few hours to go, and in general we are all Brumbies supporters today. (I think that is some quote totally irrelevant, but it sounds fair enough.) It should be interesting. The brumbies seem to play a structured game. Their game plan is based on their strengths, possession and territory...

    CAS Rugby 2013

I remember when I was a ref and my training down at Manly Oval. One thing that was drummed in was being harsh on retaliation. In fact i was told if you saw a player running in as the third man or whatever tell them to keep running to the side line as they were off. No questions asked. You would...
