2013 Super Rugby Final - CHIEFS v BRUMBIES

The Lord Nelson at the rocks will be showing the rugby. I confirmed this on Tuesday when I popped in for a refreshing ale on the way to the Taste of Tasmania wine fair/ tasting. And a good even that was as well; Lindommer would know more about the stuff than me, but I quite enjoyed some of...

2013 Super Rugby Final - CHIEFS v BRUMBIES

And where did you get your avatar HJ? It is quite refreshing.

Should be some interesting games Barker vs Trinity. Barker are always hard to beat at home, with good support and, in general, an ability to get more 50/50 calls. I am sure the team will relish the return home after last week's loss and get back to doing what they do best: scoring tries...

    CAS Rugby 2013

I am not certain on how much Knox spends on their Rugby, but though their 1sts are mid-range this year, their whole program looks to be quite strong this year. Against other CAS schools their winning margin is over 70% and in some cases 80%. So I think their approach may be more holistic than...

    CAS Rugby 2013

I notice that Knox has an injury rate of over 20% in their opens. So the plague of injuries is with other schools as well. It must be a new thing, back in my days the injury rate was no where near that level. Just curious whether the injury thing is something new to this level of competition.

I'll head to Knox. To see how well the rose arrangements along the walkways have survived the winter.

    CAS Rugby 2013

The Guardian, I think we may be at cross purposes. My bad, I wasn't quite precise. My statement re the closeness of the score was for the 2nds. When they previously met Knox won 45 -7. Thus the result of the seconds, was probably predictable, but good on the Trinity boys for getting far...

    CAS Rugby 2013

Unfortunately I was at a family do yesterday, the highlight of which was that the cask wine was only of the 2 litre variety and not a 4 litre box monster of tooth enamel stripping liquid whose vintage is a bar code and not a year. The catering of various Elfster family (read sisters') efforts...

At this stage I am doubtful for any - a family do to attend. But if I can get away from that I may wander to Trinity.

    Waratah Shield 2013

I believe Knox beat Stannies on Saturday - so they progress to round 3(?).

I think Knox may be heading over the divide to play Kinross at Orange this weekend. A nice winter trip.

NSW Schools - Trial Games and Selections 2013

For those wandering up to Warrawee for this afternoon's game be aware that there is some building work up there that could impact things or may not. And, more importantly, the parking guardians around that area use busy events to balance budgets.

Yes indeed. Though my use of smug may have been a bit harsh. But it will be interesting to see how the group progresses through the system. There has been a habit of very strong junior sides becoming relatively weaker up there recently.

    CAS Rugby 2013

I read somewhere that the Knox prep school won the state's Primary school 7's competition. And quite convincingly. Though 7's aren't an indicator of the 15's it will be interesting to see how that group progresses. On previous form this bunch of 'world beaters' will come mid range in the CAS...

    CAS Rugby 2013

I will post a more complete view of the match later, but one surprising aspect about peoples' comments about the Knox crowd behaviour was that they were using the plural. It was one of the smallest crowds I have seen there for some time. The Knox crowd had almost less people than the reserves...

Knox defeated Waverley 31 to 29.

I think it does - I remember reading somewhere that they had a night cricket game there. though they might have had temporary lighting. Or my memory could be very patchy.

Battle of the Blood Red: Lions v Queensland Reds 8th June 2013

Looking forward to this game, should be a cracker. The first real (sorry Force) of the Lions tour. More than a few questions to be answered in this one, and not just the obvious what national anthems will be played, or will the Reds play in some hideous multi-colured jersey? The...

    CAS Rugby 2013

I expect that he may. One thing that most impresses me about Paek is his enthusiasm, passion, dedication, commitment, and energy. I wouldn't be surprised that he has great limitations and there are better wingers in the CAS, but the dedicated effort he puts in each time he plays is admirable...
