That was always Cheika bullshit bingo.

That's a real problem with Australian rugby. Young players upping and leaving if they don't get selected fast enough. It's an attitude problem: they simply don't value national selection in the way players used to. Although maybe past players would also have naffed off inthe same way if the same...

Those are very good arguments. I'm coming round.

    England is coming!

No he's more in the skillful mode of lock.

Seriously? So boring in is just a misunderstanding, an honest mistake by diligent props doing their best to stay straight, despite every provocation? I'm honestly rolling on the floor laughing.

    That's rather definitive.

Those highlights reels, with their concentrated action from a season, always make players look better than they are. Houston always had great highlights.

I'd eat my hat. The boy always had potential, and if anyone can get him off the pies it's Cheika, but he's hardly been in international form for Bath.

Completely agree. I certainly don't recommend sticking with incumbents because they're incumbents. I just want to see replacements earn their places. The ABs are better at this than we are. They routinely put in-form young players into settled teams to try to extract extra performance from the...

If Alphabet can get properly fit then he could be really good.

Unfortunately, if you base your selection policy around winning major tournaments, you might never field your best team. Then the enterprise will burn to the ground as you try to find players with a non-losing record against the ABs, starting with Super Rugby rookies, then progressing to club...

Depends what you mean by selections. Always a few locals and youngsters at these sessions. I saw the-player-now-known-as-Nadolo at one once and was filled with optimism that he was about to be selected. He was a beast of a man even then, sadly with two left feet.

Maybe our best chance against the ABs is to pick a team consisting entirely of kickers. Gill, Dunning, Eales.

They'll play the same as now, regardless of the numbers.

We won't go far wrong with an in-form Lilo. He's always had the potential to be an excellent international 12. Injury always stopped him. Either K will do us fine at 13. Kerevi is more dynamic. Kuridrani is a safer pair of hands. It's potentially a good backline if everyone's in form. Enough to...

One thing we know about Cheika is that he doesn't often tell the truth when asked about his plans for forthcoming games. Usually it's a series of increasingly inconsistent confabulations, which prompts some to call him a fool, and others to conclude the opposite.

Yeah, Kerevi craps on everyone except Jed Holloway for attacking stats this year.

    Waratahs 2016

I've never seen the Australian teams as generally uncompetitive as this year. Maybe I blanked out other bad years, but this is comprehensive.
