    Rugby 7s general chat

I remember he coached Newtown. I also remember him as the only rugby league commentator who could make the game interesting. I did a fair bit of driving on weekends way back when, and I was always happy to listen to his call. He had a famous longstanding feud with Roy Masters.

    Rugby 7s general chat

There was an article in today's Hurled asserting that Manenti will have wider responsibilities that just running the Men's Sevens. He will also be looking for talent for the squad in both club and provincial teams. He has had a lot of Shute Shield experience. Manenti is not in it for the...

Australian Bid for 2027 World Cup

The Poms own Twickers, so it is a gold mine for them. No wonder they don't play anywhere else!

    Australian Rugby / RA

What we can see is a national team being coached by a professional who is developing a good style of play and a strong player base. No histrionics.

Australian Bid for 2027 World Cup

I remember that the Irish team was based on the Central Coast of NSW, I think they played at Bluetongue Stadium in Gosford (now Central Coast Stadium).

I was not actually criticising their performance, Reg, just adding a note of realism given that in my long lifetime I have seen the Keewees beat us far too often (in the Mens, the Womens is a different matter).

I have not watched the games yet, but will tonight. I like the optimism, but would add a note of caution. The Keewees are not in the mix yet.

    Reds 2022

If he has bulked up a bit and still retains his mobility, he will be a force with which to be reckoned. He has most of the skills.

    That should remain private IMHO.

    Wallabies 2023

Personally, I count this season as being successful, even if only for the wins against the Saffers. The losses to the Scots and Welsh were acceptable, given the circumstances.

The player himself was certainly not convinced that there was no infringement, he slowed down and looked at the referee. Dead giveaway.
