    You got the feeling that she understood the game, and loved it. That said, it must be a bit frustrating to know that there is a bit of a handicap in being female. It is just a fact of life that males are quicker over the ground, and that matters at the elite level.

    I was living and working in Thailand during Topo's time. International rugby virtually did not exist, except for Radio New Zealand. I used to go to the Qantas city office to read the week's papers. When I returned to Australia I remember him running a gym in the city.

    He might find it pretty tough going on our harder, faster, grounds. I think he will be shown up for pace, or lack of it.

    I know club rugby is a lot more civilised these days. Turn the clock back a few decades, there would be some tough old hands just itching to teach an upstart a few lessons.
