    England v Australia - Twickenham, 14 Nov, 4:30am AEDT

Let's do all those things. Make changes, win, and enjoy it! The last game for three months.

    England v Australia - Twickenham, 14 Nov, 4:30am AEDT

I only had enough emotional energy to watch the first 30 minutes or so. We were already well beaten when Wright got his YC. In evaluating our performance, we should remember that we went into the game without our two best THPs. That would upset the planning applecart in spades. I could not...

My view FWIW is that this is too early to start writing names in big black letters just yet. It will not surprise me if there is at least one bolter in the starting XV, maybe more.

This team has its strengths. Latu, Beale, Arnold, Skelton, Leota for example: with the big caveat that the incoming players play as well as we know they can.

    Wallabies 2021

Bell is 192, Andrew Sheridan was huge for his era, at 195. The 4 cm purported difference between Bell and Pone looks like a lot. There must be a lot more tall props these days, I guess.

    Wallabies 2021

He's a novice, for sure. He would struggle against just about every national team at the moment. But if he can learn the dark arts, he will be an outstanding weapon. I still reckon he is more likely to make the grade as a #8. He is 1.96 tall!!!

Yep, we are getting a lot more than we would out of Foketi. And Ikitau>>>>> either of them. Perese instead of Paisami, maybe.

Reminded me of a couple of Banks' efforts. Geez it cheeses me.

Skills in attack needed for our #12 - put your head down and run as fast as you can.

Gee, that's a bolt from the blue, for me anyway.

Do we have any kickers with that sort of skill?

Stop being logical. Mind you, Slipper is a Red at heart. And Latu should be starting (next week), which would remove one other B.

Mmmm. Would you have picked him as the best full back in the world? To my mind he was wonderful in attack, but always a bit iffy in defense.

    Wallabies 2021

At his best he did some world class things. But I don't think he would have been picked in a World XV.

The last 20 minutes or so is when the structures are breaking down. Time for some tricks in attacking lineouts, and Skelton is a superb mauler when it comes to defensive lineout work. Let the Scots win the ball, and then bash them in the tight and the open. (I hope).

My guess is that putting Latu in, as well as the two new locks (albeit one off the bench) might have been a stretch in terms of our lineout competencies.

    This has to happen.

Although Rennie was quoted a couple of weeks ago as saying that the NH players are doing a lot of work on our systems etc on their own. It's a bit of a toss up. Get Latu, Arnold, Skelton, and Beale into the 23 this week, on the assumption that we can beat the Scots even if we are a bit off the...
