    Wallabies v Japan, Oita - 23 October, 3:45pm AEDT

    Petaia looked pretty safe.

Kerevi will be available for selection in a couple of weeks, according to the SMH. Maybe the sky has not fallen just yet.

    Ditto.

    Wallabies v Japan, Oita - 23 October, 3:45pm AEDT

This is wartime. We have to do everything we can to crush the NH pretenders.

    Wallabies v Japan, Oita - 23 October, 3:45pm AEDT

Pete Samu did some good things when he came on. Not sure about Leota just yet at this level. I would expect Swinton to start next week. But unless we really get more accurate we are looking at a string of losses now.

Pity that not many Ozzies will see it.

I'm sure hookers would say it is. Maybe they would be right.

Heftiness comes before speediness. But both are essential these days for a 2. As well as being a great scrummager, a peerless thrower, and a superb general of the rolling maul.

    Wallabies 2021

According to Wikipedia, he is a few kegs heavier than Lonergan. That counts.

    Shute Shield 2021

Here's hoping they have turned the corner. When I was a lot younger, games against Parra were always tough contests.

    Waratahs 2022

Well, he was aspirational. Presumably he drew his own conclusion. A lot would have depended, not just on the words per se, but the context, the tone, the expression on the selector's face.

    Waratahs 2022

Because he was noticed as a junior: according to the SMH he was in the NSW Sevens squad. But he was told by a selector that "his work rate was not high enough" to make it into the Waratahs squad.

    Western Force 2021

Its a bit longer than that for the Reds. 50 hours according to Google Map. I'll set my calendar now!

    Aussie Player Exodus

According to today's SMH he was told by an unnamed NSW selector that "his work-rate was not high enough". Or he went to the wrong school. Or played for the wrong club (Eastwood).

    Wallabies 2021

Apparently not. Home games and all games against the Darkness. Apparently old movies rate better.

    Waratahs 2022

Well, errr, yes. We are talking about rugby players, aren't we? Players who put their careers in the game ahead of just about everything else? (Or should, but sometimes don"t, of course). It reminds me that many years ago I relocated to work at the Steelworks in Port Kembla just to get into...

    Waratahs 2022

So why do most of the best young players choose to go "to the bottom of the list"?

    Waratahs 2022

It is hard for me to put myself in the shoes of somebody a couple of generations younger, and with a lot more talent than I ever had. But FWIW, I would prefer to live in either Canberra or Brisbane than Sydney. Sydney is a clogged up, over populated, shitehole. The smaller cities are more...
