    Waratahs 2013

Yeah, Newcastle and Gosford were the first to come to mind because of their stadiums but they could have played it out in the bush, at least to try and appear less Sydney-centric. Don't really see the point of playing a trial at the same place that hosts nearly all your regular season games.

    Waratahs 2013

Yeah I probably am, I just really like him as a player from what he showed in the SS last year (as a fullback of course), and would love to see the Tahs actually give him a decent chance in the season proper. I guess he's never going to get a shot at fullback (just like Cam Crawford probably...

    Waratahs 2013

Game was pretty average, a typical trial. I hate to say it but Walsh was detrimental towards the game reaching any heights, he blew the pea out of his whistle by about the 60min mark. Folau was ok. His running game is strong but predictable, he gets the ball, doesn't pass, does a little jump...

    Waratahs 2013

Gee, loads of Souths blokes in the side for tomorrow's game. Just another show of how good a job the people at that club have done in developing players.

Volavola at 10, interesting. Thought he was a true fullback from what he showed for Souths last year, it'll be interesting to see how he goes running the show.

    NZ Super 15 Teams 2013

The green Highlanders one looks alright, but they should've stuck with the maroon Southland style one they used to wear.

    Cringeworthy Kearns/Martin moments.....minutes......hours......

I wish I could've gotten a dollar for each time Clarke said something about how young the Australian team was in the QF against NZ. After about the 10th time, I think everyone had realised that the team had a lot of young players in it.

    NZ Super 15 Teams 2013

Dagg at centre is potentially mouth-watering, although it would probably take away a big part of his kicking game. His running game is pretty well suited to 13 though, especially in this situation, because Marshall deserves a chance at 15 in pre season. If Dominic Bird can perform like he did...

    Retiring from Rugby

As someone in their late teens, this thread is making me very thankful that I'll be able to go to training tomorrow.

    Shute Shield 2013

Eastwood and Manly are both playing trials against the Newcastle/Hunter rep team in early March. I'd assume it's just one grade/one colts team from each coming up to play, but I'm not sure. Does anyone know if there has been discussion of perhaps playing one Sunday afternoon game a round in...

    Scrum Talk

I dunno, I think the refereeing of scrums is filtering down, where refs will blow up a scrum at the first sight of an imbalance, even if one team has clearly won posession. Played in a semi final last year where one scrum took literally 4-5 minutes to finally get the ball out of, after 4 resets...

    Shute Shield 2013

I agree with this completely. The last time I went to a SS club game (usually go down for the GF but due to the Newc/Hunter comp it's hard to get down for SS games) was at Manly, last year against Sydney Uni, and they had kids all over the place, wearing either their own club's jersey, a Manly...

    Rugby documentary here.

I believe he answers this in a youtube video on the NZ Rugby channel. IIRC it's because he just likes to focus in on the people singing in the crowd, and the blokes singing next to him, and think about the game rather than the anthem...something like that.

    Top Test Tries 2012

That set move for Dagg's try in Bledisloe 1 - beautiful. I'd forgotten just how good that was. You've got 4 blokes in motion, but only 2 passes, one of which is a very short one from Read to Carter. Just magic. And how about the two flick passes from forwards (Read and Whitelock) for Dagg's...

I'm only into his time at Wales, but yeah it's a pretty good read so far. I'll be very interested to read the whole story about how he was appointed as AB's coach as I don't really remember it, and obviously his thoughts on the 07/11 World Cups.

^I've just started reading Graham Henry's book, and it seems that he's very intense and very serious about what he does which seems like it would cloud his real personality in everyday life. Sort of in the same vein as someone like Craig Bellamy in rugby league. He obviously is/was hugely...

    Rugby documentary here.

In McCaw's new book (which is a pretty good read by the way) he admits/discusses how the relationship between the two teams went sour in about 2009/10 when the Aussies stopped going into the AB's shed after games for a beer and a chat. McCaw believes that it was part of Deans' ploy to make the...

    Shute Shield 2013

Doesn't Jack Littlejohn have massive wraps on him? AJ Gilbert deserves a spot in the proper Tahs squad IMO, hell of a player and I reckon he'd be up to the next level for sure.
