What is wrong with the Tahs

I don't think it would take much to turn the tahs around. All the pieces are there - massive junior catchment, strong club comp, established brand and history; they just need to put it all together and match it with some on field success. I don't understand why the tahs are a separate...

    Hurricanes v Brumbies, Super Rugby R13 2012

I worry about Mogg and White being elevated to international level before they are ready. I certainly think they both have the talent and are performing better than the alternatives, but both are still too inconsistent and this will be really targeted at international level.

Welcome Back To Super Rugby The Cats?

I feel for the cheetahs. They are just starting to get a team together that could have a tilt at the title. Why not merge the lions and bulls into one super province.

    Hurricanes v Brumbies, Super Rugby R13 2012

I still think the reds have their measure when they get it together. But the brumbies are defiantly on the way up, and I think jake will get his title within 4 years.

    Higgers to the Rebels

"It was the hardest decision I've ever had to make. In a perfect world, this is my home and I'd like to play here forever," - Scott Higginbotham In my mind that says it all really. The ARU is treading down a dangerous path allowing this team to be ripped apart. They need to build the...

    Reds 2013

I defiantly think it would be wise to bring an old dog like heenan or MMM in for a year until schatz or quirk establish themselves. You can't win this comp without having a quality back row that has the balance right.

    Higgers to the Rebels

Delves a great player and bloke, but higgers is the fucking man. I just hope you rebels fans appreciate him.

    Reds 2013

Just quietly, I think Hugh McMeniman is off contract in japan. The reds would not be able to match what he is getting in japan, but with the lions series next year he might fancy his chances of another shot at the big time.

    Higgers to the Rebels

There are a number of reasons for him wanting to decide now, firstly because he is in good form at the moment which helps his negotiations, secondly because after this he has to negotiate with the aru, and if those negotiations fail he has to then negotiate overseas, which needs to be done...

IRB and Unions Sanction New Law Trials

I dont mind what they come up with as long as it is consistently enforced for a number of seasons. In the last few seasons the refs have gone from the ELV's to letting the defensive team pilfer without releasing, to mandating the tackler release, to then not being clear on if the tackler has to...

    Higgers to the Rebels

The reds have the money but if they offer higginbotham more than the current deal, they won't be able to fit him under the salary cap. This is the problem. Keep in mind they have to keep space under the cap to re-sign cooper, tapuai, shipperly and hanson.

IRB and Unions Sanction New Law Trials

I am disappointed they have not gotten rid of the power hit, or introduced a 'no-resets' once the ball is out rule. Would also like to see a clear and universal mandate on ruck interpretation.

    Higgers to the Rebels

If the ARU is worried about provincial finances they should cap super rugby player payments as a proportion of the franchises gross revenue. The market will spread the talent naturally through money and opportunity. There is no need for an unfair and poorly thought out salary cap.

    Higgers to the Rebels

I think you are wrong about this. Higginbotham has pretty much come out and said him staying in QLD is dependent on the ARU reaching a salary cap deal with the RUPA. Until the deal is reached the reds are working under the proviso that the salary cap is the same as this years, whereas the...

    Reds 2013

Shatz and Quirk will suffice but both of them play their best rugby at 6. The other options McDulling and AWH could both only play 6 as well - as both are pretty much locks. The younger options Browning and McMahon are not yet ready for super rugby. So we really need a top class 8 with nice...

    Rebels 2013

Harris would be a horrible signing for the rebels. He is a centre and you already have decent centres in JOC (James O'Connor), Inman, Mortlock, Mitchell and Lojo. Sam Lane, Allan Fa'alavuu, Ben Whittaker, Leroy Houston, Jack Lam (Or Jono Jenkins if you cant get him). Then you'd go after a quality older prop to...

    Hurricanes v Brumbies, Super Rugby R13 2012

It's a generally strong pack - both starting and bench. The only unproven player is the reserve hooker hegarty.

    Reds 2013

Now is the perfect time for the reds to announce that higgers is walking out on his championship dreams due to not being paid enough. Cue a full back page colour article in tomorrow's courier mail, with op-ed columns and the whole she-bang. He will be re-signed by the weekend ;). This tactic...
