Gosh Hooper was good again.

Without wanting to turn this into a Gill vs Hooper thread again, there is such a great rivalry and competition building between the two for that back up spot. I wouldn't be surprised if Hooper gets into the shed after his warm down and sends a little "What up now, Bitch!" text message to Gill, egging him on to put in a better performance tomorrow. This is the competition and rivalry which makes great teams! I am loving it!

Loving watching the brumbies.

They are such a well balanced side, every player knows their job and does it well. No weaknesses, and some real stars in the making.

I agree, Reds of 2010, keep this up the Reds and Brumbies are the teams next year to watch out in the Aus Conference, and will dominate the Wallabies and only a hand full will play and we will lose...:mad:

Very impressed with Zack Holmes, what a great first outing at 10. Directed the attack well, kicked well, took on the line at the right time.

Also think Joe Tomane is going places. Such a balanced runner, and has pace to burn. A genuine winger.

Great work from the front 5 as well. Mowen didn't have his best game, same with Mogg. But all in all it was a solid team effort.

The brumbies are the best OZ team. The reds are a good team that depends on touches of individual magic to get things done. the brumbies work together and play for each other. Both will make the finals and both will do well

I still think the reds have their measure when they get it together. But the brumbies are defiantly on the way up, and I think jake will get his title within 4 years.

I think you underestimate the individual talent the Brumbies have to offer.

The Brumbies deserved that win with their never say die attitude and this isn't the first time they've shown that this year - think second half vs Bulls.

This team doesn't care about history or previous meetings against sides and will have a go because they play for each other.

The one thing that concerns me is the tendency to switch off after working hard to get in front. Tonight's Auelua try was followed by some terrible kicking.

If one box kick get's charged down, don't persist with it.

Jess Mogg, despite being a great talent, needs to sort out his kicking out on the full yips. Other teams would take advantage of the field position they get after such a poor kick.

But onwards and upwards. Can't wait for the game against the Reds next Saturday.

I worry about Mogg and White being elevated to international level before they are ready. I certainly think they both have the talent and are performing better than the alternatives, but both are still too inconsistent and this will be really targeted at international level.

Yes BJ, although a great result for the Brumbies, I was cursing numerous times in the game.

I'm hard pressed to think of one kick where the Brumbies seriously put pressure on the Hurricanes. Most kicks seemed to just hand back possession and allowed the Hurricanes to play themselves back into the game after the Brumbies impressive start.

I would have thought some long low 'skidding' kicks would have been better than the box kicks - especially in the 2nd half when conditions were conducive to those type of kicks.

Obviously the two half backs were meant to kick and take pressure off Holmes. But surely there were times when either Holmes or Mogg were better placed to kick long and deep - rather than the hurried, pressured kicks by the half backs.

But maybe I'm being too harsh. After all it was great character by the Brumbies to win in NZ in tricky conditions. But they made too many errors for my liking - so I hope they can learn and tighten up for the Reds. At this stage th Reds would be favoured to win based on last weeks performance.

A draw maybe?

White can play off the bench but anyone seriously considering Mogg is insane.

A couple of days ago in the newspaper I'm pretty sure White said that they would be kicking it up to the wingers in Hurricanes half to contest them looking for the mistake instead of just kicking it out. From your assessment that's exactly what they did, so the game plan was spot on, and there were a silly amount of errors from the Hurricanes, so it worked too. :D

The Brumbies dodged a bit of a bullet with Corey Jane going off for the Canes - their much vaunted counter-attack was a bit lessened by that, and some aimless (at times) Brumby kicking was not punished.
Mogg is a work in progress for me. Very promising work, but I agree a bit premature for Test status just yet.

Jesus Country Kid, can't smell the manure for the flowers?

Well done Brums, the Reds destiny is now well and truly in their own hands. But I wouldn't be surprised to see Hooper given a few weeks for his tackle on Vito.

I was surprised to hear the Hurricanes have conceded the most points, and scored the second most. Enigmatic to say the least.

BG, after the game Conrad Smith said he thought his team weren't playing well even when they led 25 - 16. I agree with him.

Just before and just after half-time, the Hurricanes were gifted too much easy possession combined with heaps of time and space to run at the Brumbies and the weight of that possession and territory resulted in easy points for the Hurricanes. It wasn't looking good at 25 - 16.

But credit to the Brumbies - once they controlled possession, they piled on 21 points. That was beautiful.

I think the Brumbies are going to head into the match next week as favourites. This Brumbies side is really good. As a Reds supporter it's sad to say that we're clear underdogs.

Hooper should be fine.

If Morahan got nothing neither should Hooper... And Morahan's was a cardable offence...

Hooper's tackle was only just bad enough to be a penalized offence...

I thought he might've got a yellow, but it certain ly doesn't warrant any further sanction...
