    QLD Premier Rugby 2020

Didn't realise the 2020 site was up and running - And there's already been a bit of off season argy bargie but it is going to be interesting with the coaching merry go round and the player movement associated with that. Gee Norths will be a interesting round table with Byron & Buzz involved...

Might be a bit of player movement in QPR next year with the coaching shuffle: Carl Marshall to coach Wests; Sione Fukofeku - leaves Easts for head role @ Snbk; Mark Bartholomuz to replace Sione @ Easts; Todd Dammers steps up from colts to Prems @ Souths; Matho returns to Brothers; I hear some...

    QLD Teams 2019

There seems to be a lot of Qlders at the Western Force - Sampson, Tessmann, Ready, Prior, Placid, just off the top of my head. Sure that there would be others.

    Is Mack Mason playing NRC?

Thanks for clarifying that Eagles certain changed then from the first year or two which is good. Some blokes don't take up an NRC contract because of work/study commitments - which is fine also.

Maybe he hasn't developed as one would have hoped for but he was pretty good as an 17/18 year old in the 2013 GF - see highlights package below.? At 1:50 minutes in I think Sam Greene & Placid won the two colts of the year awards that year and how have their careers gone at the Reds and beyond?

    QLD Teams 2019

That's not quite right not all players in the NRC are professional rugby players. If you aren't contracted to the Reds and get called up from QPR you don't get paid a cent.

For god sake the squads are well into training can't they not release them to the rugby community. It's a bit hard to form an affinity for either side unless you know who'll be in them.

Is it too soon to talk about QPR2020? I think there are a number of clubs who need to get better if they want to be in contention to win the Hospital Cup next year, not just make the 4. I will exclude the grand finalists from this discussion because Uni will always be a threat if they can make...

With the Reds website issues have the two NRC squads been released?

Could be a few jobs up. I think Souths might be looking to shift the chairs around. Wonder whether Todd Dammers is in line for another crack at QPR after his success with the Souths colts this year. Maybe he's an option for Brothers & Souths.

Fair enough SX - however but for a penalty goal or two Uni wouldn't have made the four but they did and I agree they are a good chance on Sunday. If Uni do win then Brothers might think back to the round 16 clash at St Lucia and contemplate whether a shot at penalty goal was a better option -...

I don't want to say I told you so but back on 23/11/18 I posted this and was told that GPS had the supreme depth to go back to back. 40 years on and we get a replay of the very historic 1979 GFs between Bros & Uni.

Think the teams get officially announced around the grand final but I think the coaching staff would be having selection meetings and player discussions now. Would Ben Mowen be selected or would he want to play NRC? He was an East Coast Aces player in the original (Mazda) NRC so he could...

Who will have the best scrum in the semis? Between GPS & Easts for mine. And on that basis I think they'll be the two winners in week 1.

As good as GPS obviously were last Saturday and how close a game Brothers/Easts played it is a whole new ball game come Sunday.

Probably why GPS & Easts would rather that Brothers took that shot at penalty goal v Uni recently. In hindsight Brothers themselves probably have a small regret.
