God help you if you think "the Fonz" will trigger the backline revival at GPS. Go forward yes but offers very little as a second receiver, which is something Hegerty will if he plays #15.

On another note - I think you know where I am going with this - how has Harley Fox risen to captaincy status at Souths?

I know the world has changed but I just don't think the Reds players are that commited/loyal to their clubs as years past. In the good old days guys would play a test match for the wallabies on a Saturday and back up on Sunday for their club - that obviously doesn't happen anymore but even...

Was JOC (James O'Connor) last game for Bros the minor semi final loss to Souths in 2015?

Have heard that JOC (James O'Connor) may not be the only former Wallaby (not contracted to a Super Franchise in 2019) who may run out for his old club before the end of the season. It won't be for Wests and he's not putting his hand up for RWC19. It is not Quade.

Difference with Hegarty is that JOC (James O'Connor) has s Reds contract. I think he may run around for Brothers in coming weeks. Interesting article of Jimmy Tuckker today re how Brad Thorn manages his anti-drug philosophy with JOC (James O'Connor). I'd say there will be a few former Reds keeping an eye on that.

    What's ahead in the final 4 rounds? Who can hold it together to achieve a finals spot with an opportunity to hold the hospitals cup aloft? After round 14 it looks like this: Club: P; W; Pts; Rnd 15; 16; 17; 18 Bros(Br): 13; 12; 53; Bye; U; G; E; GPS(G): 12; 9; 41; N; Sn; Br; U; Uni(U): 13; 7...

Table after 12 rounds Finals qualifications say 9 wins: Bros 10 wins 5 to play require 0/5; GPS 8 wins 6 to play require 1/6; Souths 6;5;3/5; Wests 5;5;4/5; Uni 5;5;4/5; Easts 5;6;4/6; Bond 4;5;5/5

Massive day for 3 points of the compass. If Souths could knock off GPS then they set themselves above the chasers; If Wests and Easts can do the same over Uni & Bond they will set themselves above the varsity clubs. If Wests & Easts win then it is increasingly difficult mathematically for...

No first criteria is number of games won Sths 6 Wests 5 rather than F & A which is 4 & 106 respectively so Souths 3rd Wests 4th at present. F&A is the second criteria.

At some stage of ever game today the lower ranked team (table) were in front. Upsets for Bond & Uni; Brothers in the 83rd minute; Snbk by 1. Great round of games but gutting result at the Kennel.

You can't write off Uni or Bond just yet. Table after today's results all but # (2 byes) have played 11 Bros 45 GPS 36 # Souths 26 Wests 26 Uni 23 Easts 22# Bond 21 Snbk 14 Norths 10 # It is going to be s great race home for finals spots, probably with Bond & Uni springing upsets today it is...

I believe that the pressure will be on Uni over the next 2 rounds v Souths & Wests. Drop one of those and they'll need 4/4 coming home including Brothers & GPS. I won't call them out of it just yet but they are just holding on by the skin of their teeth. Lose to Souths or Wests and I think...

I agree SX but I still think Uni may come up a win short at the end of the season - which will be a relief for the top 4 teams. Bros 9 wins; GPS 8 (2 byes); Sth 6; Wests 5; Easts 5; Uni 4; Bond 3; Norths 2; Snbk 2. If 9 wins is the cut then Uni will need to win 5 from 6; Wests & Easts 4 from...

    QLD Premier Rugby 2019

SX Uni will be tough to beat when they get these troops back but it is probably 4 weeks away as the Reds have two rounds left and then the players have to have a week off. Then they have to win every game and that includes having to take on Bros & GPS at full strength. No one would like to...

    QLD Premier Rugby 2019

And I think it is now down to 5 teams. Losses yesterday to Bond, Uni & Norths mean that the wins that they have after 10 rounds are: Bond 3; Uni 3; Norths 2; Snbk 1. If 10 wins (maybe 9) is the cut off for finals footy then I think you can put a line through these teams as it's just a bridge...

It's been a tough 10 or so months for the Snbk club - got to feel for them. Let's hope that their stint at the bottom of the table is not a sustained one, but rugby/sport does tend to be cyclical - you can't always be at the top but it's not nice being down the bottom either.

    QLD Premier Rugby 2019

At the halfway point of the season it seems that 2 teams standout as clear favourites - GPS & Bros - and the others will just be jockeying for 3rd & 4th. The only side I'm writing off at this stage is Sunnybank everyone else could possibly make the cut but don't have time to spare as a loss or...

Absolutely agree SX. Just have to think how well Tim Horan did after his injuries. How much personal impact he had in the RWC99 - possibly he was player of that tournament. Samu has plenty of runs left in him let's hope he bats on for the Reds.
