I don't know whether you would say the QRU pushed/are pushing for the NRC but it is fair to say the Shute Shield clubs don't like the NRC they all want to go it alone and so be it if the weak fall by the way side. I would think the QPR clubs aren't as self interested as their SS contemporaries...

Broader than QPR but what are people's views on: 1. Proposed National Club competition; & 2. Probable cancelation of the Hong Kong Sevens?

I think that Dammers (as a St Lawrence's Old Boy & Souths junior) is a better cultural fit at Souths than he was at GPS. He's had success at Sydney Uni, just because he inherited a basket case at GPS (a side that should have got the job done in 2013) doesn't mean he can't have sustained...

The Picone effect on Souths is what it is. He turned it into a very transient club. He pulled off a great premiership in 2015 but how many of those guys will still be at the club 5 years on in 2020? Granted guys will move onto bigger & better things but you would still think you would still...

I think living at Tingalpa you have to make the short trip to Easts - always a nice afternoon or you could pop onto the Gateway/M1 and drive 45 minutes down to Bond.

8 is a lot - but positive thinking has Reds making finals and then the compulsory rest time so I think it will be more like 4 weeks pre-finals. They never return when you think they might.

If we can indulge for a minute and take it as a given that Tamiela Tupou does play at Wests this year lets put it in perspective the Bulldogs will have to do most of it without him and then if he's in the Wallabies (which you would think he would be) then he probably doesn't play a QPR game...

Who was the Bond #10 last year? Was is Dion T?? I rate Dillon over Nucifora but Nucifora was the Bond Skipper last year and is his father is still involved at the club? You are going to have both of them in Premier grade - just a question of where they fit them in? Could Nucifora play @ #15?
  10. Bulldog

    QLD Premier Rugby 2020

Does Nucifora play @ 10 & Dillon @ 9? I wouldn't think Dillon would want to play Reggies for Bond. What if any affect in his decision to play for Bond - was his involvement for the Bond Uni Qld Country NRC side play in his decision?

Just goes to show you are never going to have the supremely talented at your club for long so you need to make the most of it when they're on your books. It's not as though you can build a side around them because the next you know they've moved on. But we want these players to move onto...

Some recent good news out of Sylvan Road: http://www.westsbulldogsrugby.com.au/uncategorized/life-membership-graham-brown Amongst many other things Brownie was instrumental in the redevelopment - it's sits there as his legacy. A very fitting tribute to a great human being.

It would be great if all the clubs put up their training squads on their websites so that we could get a gauge of who has ended up where - particularly this year when it's alleged that there has been mass evacuation from Chipsy Wood. I am not writing the Magpies off by any stretch of the...

I believe that their should be some type of draft for players in the Reds squad. Clearly guys that have clearly established links to a club (I.e. Juniors, family ties) are exempt but players coming from interstate/abroad are allocated to the clubs on a rotational basis. Or according to where the...

Little known fact is that the QPR clubs pay the registration fees for the Reds/Wallabies they have on their books. So Brothers will be paying JOC (James O'Connor) fees even though he may not play a game at Brothers this year due to Reds/Wallaby commitments. Same goes for Wests with Jordan Petaia. Guys like...

When James Moore headed to Japan he would not have been at the top of the list of QPR players capable of playing Test rugby but he went to Japan to play club rugby and then got picked up by the Sunwolves - certainly not beyond Horan to rise up and play for Japan @ RWC23

I remember seeing Alex Horan playing colts for UQ back around 2015 but how has he developed since then? Good luck to him - he'll need it the Sunwolves are a tough gig.
