Wobblies v pumas - is Salta at altitude edition

That's it there. We're calling to the wrong places, not moving quickly on the ground and getting picked off. So we end up just throwing to Hooper at 2 and screwing our first phase attack completely. The problem is twofold, that I can see - our lineout set plays are poor, and our calling is...

Wobblies v pumas - is Salta at altitude edition

I'm not going to accuse you of bias, BR, I'm just going to accuse you of being wrong. This is bizarre logic. Hooper and Pocock were our best two forwards on the field on Saturday, by miles. To point to them as the problem? My god. Hooper wins collisions just as well, if not better, than any...

Wobblies v pumas - is Salta at altitude edition

How are we going to fix our lineout this week? On viewing the game again, Fainga'a's throwing wasn't the problem - he was hitting his targets, we were just calling to the wrong places. Do we need a change of caller? Clearly Coleman and Rodda aren't up to the task. I don't know if the best...

RC5: Springbokke vs Wallabies @ PE

Think it depends on the nature of the losses. It's a live chance though.

RC5: Springbokke vs Wallabies @ PE

Agree on all counts, Lorenzo. I'd also add to #1 to stop playing rugby in our own fucking 22, and generally manage our field position a lot better than we do currently. That's a Cheika problem far more than a Foley/Beale/To'omua problem IMO. .

Whatever Derpus. Take off the blue goggles mate. There are only two schools of thought on this issue - you're either a Foley fan, or you don't support the Waratahs. It's just that simple. .

RC5: Springbokke vs Wallabies @ PE

I disagree he's 'really good at everything'. He's a decent 10 but I don't think he's a great organiser in attack and he has never been as able to single-handedly create things like Foley. I love the way he plays but let's not make him seem like the saviour of our backline. .

RC5: Springbokke vs Wallabies @ PE

I think the problem with this is the assumption that we can just change a few numbers on backs and this will all start to work like clockwork. Beale, Foley and (shock) To'omua are all decent players with limitations. The number on their back may help a little bit with how those limitations are...

RC5: Springbokke vs Wallabies @ PE

Much like Beale at 10, I just don't think Folau at 13 works. It's taking a piano player and giving them a guitar. Hodge has been decent at 13, a position where he had never really played at Test level before the RC. I think he's growing in the role, and I like the versatility he provides...

    RA's new pathway model

It's about talent ID, for sure. Just because this particular media release is about that it doesn't mean they are doing nothing to expand the game. Can someone who actually has some involvement with juniors/schoolboys tell us what this actually means? Does this give us more junior rep...

    The Wallabies Thread

No, because he had a blowup when he didn't get the Wallabies gig last time, and walked out of Canberra leaving them in the lurch. I don't trust him. Also, he's another Eddie Jones/Michael Cheika style 'mind games' coach I reckon, and I'm not sure that's what we need right now.

    Waratahs 2019

The series of articles by 'Johnny Football' on the Roar makes for very interesting reading. Part 2 has just gone up today, exposing some pretty major flaws in the way NSW is doing business...

When was the last time you saw JOC (James O'Connor) play rugby, Lorenzo? If he's the 2011 version of JOC (James O'Connor), then it's a no-brainer. If it's the 2015 version, I'd be way less keen. .

    RC4 - Australia v Argentina

Guys can we move away from the discussion of Tui and his mental state? I don't really think that needs to be fodder for an online forum such as this. Let's stick to the rugby. .

    Watching the rugby on TV

Good people of G&GR, I'm moving house, and seriously considering ditching the Foxtel for a cheaper option. I'm currently on the sport HD package, which sets me back roughly $70 a month. Does anyone have any experience with Foxtel Now? I like the cheaper price tag but I worry about...

    RC4 - Australia v Argentina

I actually disagree with this. I thought our forwards put in a pretty good shift against a committed Argentinian defence. The set piece was solid bar a few lineout errors, and I noticed a definite rise in intensity from last week - players were actually running onto the ball! It wasn't...

A few thoughts on a Monday morning. That peanut in the crowd has had a greater impact on me than the game itself: http://www.greenandgoldrugby.com/the-man-in-the-crowd-have-we-all-gone-too-far/

    RC4 - Australia v Argentina

I'd argue Beale's best work in his test career has been on the wing (under Deans circa 2010), and off the bench in the 23 jersey (circa Cheika 2015), where he played at fullback or on the wing. I want to see him back in those roles, and I think it's a bit silly to put the pen through him based...

    RC4 - Australia v Argentina

Ah yes, Hooper's notorious seagulling, which saw him score a try on the weekend from....... a pick and drive next to the ruck. .
