    Southern Inland Rugby 2019

The girls games were only about 10 minutes per half Reasoning. Maybe they were a bit longer. Sometimes a long trip for such a short game. Pretty energetic though with only 7 players on the field. Is there any further discussion about an U18s competition. Is this an area that needs expansion?

OK Mauler lets just agree to disagree. I think the rep program is inadequate and you think it’s fine and headed in the right direction. Like you said I’m only throwing darts from the sidelines. It will be really interesting to see how the clubs vote.

Back in my day rep anything was for the best. Not for those who ‘want’ to be part of it. Trouble is our best aren’t interested in being part of it. They’d rather be home playing darts.

Well worded Sam. Just don’t spend too much time and emphasis on the rep stuff. Pathways should be mainly a focus for junior siru.

Why is the issue about pathways such a big deal. If the selected rep team went to country week couldn’t the players just enjoy the competition. 99% of siru players just want to play weekly rugby. Who cares about being poached to Canberra rugby.

I realise it’s not your decision mate. As usual you don’t answer anything.

Firstly, Mauler do you honestly agree that we should have 6 byes in a 14 round competition? Secondly what could be the purpose of the July 13 bye? All this is happening because we we can’t attend the Country Championships because we are part of the Brumbies franchise isn’t it? You say people...

I can see a place for the 5 byes with the rep and medal presentation. What was the 6th bye actually for Bandar.

These byes for rep weekends and medal presentation are not a good idea. I can’t believe clubs meekly agree to 5 general byes in a 14 round comp. Doesn’t anybody else consider this ridiculous?

OK Mauler I’m confused. We’re talking rep here right? ACT development? Brumbies Provincial Tournament? Brumbies Provincial team? Who’s making decisions here? Siru or Brumbies? We pay levies to RA. We go to Country Week and our best players can’t progress? Is this a joke? Are we deliberately...

I’m sorry Mauler but this is just what I’m talking about with the Brumbies. We’re ALL paying them money out of our regos and they’re making decisions without consultation. You are saying watch this space re rep. FB says open trial for rep. For what? Dec 15 hottest part of year. Players don’t...

Your commitment to your cause is commendable Mauler. Sounds interesting on the rep front for next season. Good luck with it.

While I support Griffith Blacks I am not on the committee and don’t talk rugby with committee members. I personally believe our SIRU rep program is inadequate. As Reasoning suggested my opinion is that we would be better served going to Country Week. The Brumbies might be great for junior SIRU...

Mate didn’t we have a game of rugby every week before Brumbies affiliation. I was under the impression that individual clubs sorted player insurance. What rep pathways. Even the players in this zone aren’t interested in your rep pathways. What percentage of registration fees go to ACT...

    Southern Inland Rugby 2018

What does the average senior SIRU player get out of Brumbies affiliation - bugger all I’d imagine. What percentage of a registration fee goes toward ACT affiliation. Players just want a game of rugby on Saturday afternoon. Super Rugby clubs can talent scout junior or young senior players to...

What a fantastic development for those clubs in the new/old SW comp. I think this will be a stable comp. Waratahs obviously aren’t but Rugby in general is struggling in SIRU. None of those SW teams will be rushing to gain entry back into our zone. I don’t think those SW clubs would be concerned...

    Southern Inland Rugby 2018

Whistle, rugby in NSW has gone downhill since everything has been geared to super rugby. Country Rep rugby included. Country rep rugby should be like it used to be with zones meeting in Sydney on a long weekend. Zones of relatively similar strength play each other etc. The old Country Week...

What does everyone expect. Isn’t our rep program inadequate. I realise this is a different situation but the players themselves have given up on pathways via representing SIRU. A team of players unavailable could have easily accounted for our actual SIRU rep team this year.

I ‘d have to say typical kartman. Wagga/SIRU admin seem to have always treated some clubs differently to others. Look at the way the Leeton coach was treated compared to this Blacks player.

Maybe we start too early Reasoning. I think the season is long enough but it’s pretty cool up here in Griffith. Far too cold for cricket. I reckon we should have a pre season comp and pick a rep squad. That would extend our season. I suppose if you get through to the GF the season will seem long...
