    Southern Inland Rugby 2018

Good points made there Bandar. It will be interesting to see the quantity and quality of Leeton's squad next sason.

My response to Bandar was probably unfair. The fact is that Wagga does provide 4 teams to Siru, which is half the competition. However Bandar's statement of Griffith winning the competition is only a matter of getting the right coach is way off the mark. When we did win the comp in 2014 the...

Demographics and size have got nothing to do with it Bandar. Wagga has 2 town teams with a population of 64000. Without the uni Wagga would have 2 teams. Griffith has a population of 26000. We don't have a tertiary institution like CSU and a lot of our potential players leave our town...

Griffith have their AGM on October 14. The coaching position has already been advertised so something might be announced then.

What's happening in 2018? Surely something contentious has arisen that can provoke conversation. Have any coaches been appointed? Is the AGM likely throw up some controversial issues?

Seru and Marika are Phantoms now. I wouldn't have thought the Blacks or either of them would be entertaining a re-union. Did the former player elaborate Happy on what the things that needed sorting out were?

How is it that Waratahs got so close to beating the unbeatable Leeton team. Looking to 2018 what happens to Leeton? Do the Fiji contingent which made up the majority of the team continue on?

I think the only chance Waratahs have is to play a very negative style of rugby. 2 points seem obvious. Number 1, if a lot of points are scored in the game Leeton wins. Number 2, if Leeton have 50% or more of the pill a lot of points are going to be scored in the game. Is there any way Waratahs...

Did a bit of research Francis. Places like Coota, Harden and Canowindra play along with the teams you mentioned. Blayney is over 4 hours away. Canowindra is over 3. Siru is a better option for Griffith.

Even though I support the Blacks (I live here) I'm not really in the loop of what's happening. Just wondering about your comment Happy. That one team Central West comp centres a great deal around Orange. The distances of teams even south of Orange are way to far to allow our entry into that...

Thanks for the as usual great preview Sam and those results. Does that mean the GF will be at Leeton?

Hardly Happy but who would know. Would someone put the bloody results up?

    Southern Inland Rugby 2017

I've checked the Griffith Blacks and SIRU FB pages - nothing there. Maybe it's a typo as Happy suggested. The only way the match could be taken away from us (Blacks) was if ineligible players were used. Surely not. That team has played successfully together nearly all season. Not many if any...

    Southern Inland Rugby 2017

Is Brian Brumbies correct in suggesting City and Tumut have begun videoing games in an attempt to combat refereeing inconsistencies. It just seems a lot of teams have an overpowering compulsion to commit yellow card indiscretions when playing Waratahs at Conolly during close/important games eg...

I think there is a lot of truth in what you have said Bandar but I don't think it had much to do with the popularity or otherwise of the 1st grade coach. There is the pub test Mauler and then there is the Romanos test.

I can understand the conflict regarding the forfeited Griffith games. However it is difficult to understand your mention of Group 20 Francis. Curgenven plays half a season of Group 9 mungo - doesn't qualify for the rah rah finals - but then again he does. How many of James' former Blues team...

    Southern Inland Rugby 2017

Given Leeton's perceived superiority over everyone else Saturday's game between City and Tahs seems to be game the rank and file punter is most looking forward to. The off-field Armstrong/Curgenven saga adding spice to the on-field drama. The heart says City but...

    Southern Inland Rugby 2017

Happy, I have watched Sam Donelan and Linden Gunn referee outstandingly in a couple of the games I've watched this season. The guy we had in the Leeton/Griffith 2nd round debacle was just so good. But we have a long history of suspicion relating to referees, administration and Waratahs. To deny...

No worries Sam. I'm as astounded as anyone else at what happened at Beres Ellwood on Saturday. The Blacks play 26 players after forfeiting 2nd grade? Why wouldn't the punters be scratching their heads and asking questions? I would be p----- off if I was a CSU 2nds player.

    Southern Inland Rugby 2017

I can see where Dave or James' eligibility is an arbitrary set of circumstances that needs to be decided upon but I don't see why Sam included the Griffith 2nds situation as a discussion point. Griffith 2nds are in the semis on Saturday and all of the players will be eligible to play. I wasn't...
