Rebels v Reds, 27 June @ AAMI Park

Yeah he's a big fella isn't he? I wonder if he's considered playing tighter and maybe making a move to number 8, could be good there.

    Reds 2015

Choo choo I'm coming to see you...

    Rebels 2015

Shipperly is a good player, hopefully can get back to his 2012 form with some game time. Fark we're raiding the reds this year. Their silence is bizarre and I'm not sure a sudden announcement of signing two expensive players of unknown value (on and off the field) is going to help their...

    Rebels 2015

Good signing, another quality outside back from the tahs that Tony can leave sitting on the bench... Actually he's pretty big isn't he? Might actually get a game with TT's love of beef.

    Wallabies v France 3rd Test - 21 June Sydney

French might have a crack at the lineout this week too as they're all going to Simmons again.
  6. Deputy Van Halen

    Wallabies v France 3rd Test - 21 June Sydney

Interesting that Carter and Big Willy got a start to prove themselves and Jones only got a 15 minute cameo in snooze fest. Still, fair enough they want to try them all out and it's safer to keep Horwill around for experience. Hopefully Skelton fronts up and does some damage to the french...

Jonah Placid signing confirmed on a 2 year deal. Good signing IMO, huge potential there and can hopefully help fill Woodward's boots. https://www.melbournerebels.com.au/news/article/jonah-placid-to-join-rabodirect-rebels

    Rebels 2015

Wow very surprised QLD let Placid go, he's got a lot of potential and seemed to be a QLD boy. We're really signing some promising talent young now, I don't mind that at all. Hopefully JOC (James O'Connor) works out better for QLD than he did for us, he must still be commanding a hefty price tag the way they're...

    Rebels 2014

Well the rebels indigenous jersey to be used in the last home has taken unassailable lead as the ugliest jersey ever made. Might almost be worth buying just to remember how terrible it was in a few years. Love the concept, the execution is lacking...

Wallabies v France - June 14 Etihad Stadium

Holds a touch over 30,000 I believe. A sold out AAMI park would look and sound far more impressive than half empty etihad. Not a bad seat in the place either with whereas etihad is an oval field. However I believe there is some sort of agreement to play wallabies matches at etihad for the...

Wallabies v France - June 14 Etihad Stadium

My mind is made up, Ryan has scrummed poorly all year and continued that form into the test. Further more has never shown class at test level. Genia has and we know he can turn it back on with a suitable kick up the bum. I like Phipps, no problems with him on the bench as his enthusiasm can be...

Wallabies v France - June 14 Etihad Stadium

You would expect the following changes for injury: Starting: TPN Horwill Benny Mac Bench: Charles Jones Higgers Unforced form changes I (and others) would like to see: Sio for Pek Genia for Phipps Weeks for Ryan The bench forwards let the team down in the last 20-30. Ryan in particular...

    Wallabies v France 1st test - Suncorp 7 June

It's all a big ruse, they're going to go out and play touch footy. That will really surprise the frogs, brilliant stuff, Link really is a master coach.

    Wallabies v France 1st test - Suncorp 7 June

I do agree, I always saw him as a 6 that could play lock in a pinch. He's just been shoe horned into lock at the rebels as there are too many back rowers that can't play lock and not enough regular locks either. Probably next cab of the rank if anything happens to fardy or simmons though.

    Wallabies v France 1st test - Suncorp 7 June

Just being bitter, Horwill is a fine lock when firing so hopefully it clicks for him on Saturday. Think the team is very strong and players have been picked to perform roles instead of 'play what's in front of you' x-factor bullshit which is STILL a relief to see. I imagine Jones is seen as a...

    Rebels 2014

Something about having a full rested squad ready to fire after the break because of zero wallabies or something like that... Ah who am I kidding it's one more kick in happy sacks after a grim couple of weeks. Think Jones has been very hard done by and will hopefully make the 23 before the...
  17. Deputy Van Halen

    Wallabies v France 1st test - Suncorp 7 June

I like McCalman don't get me wrong, can cover the whole backrow really. Not sure we need the impact of not getting over the advantage line and stone cold dropping the ball with Horwill though. Just a bitter Luke Jones fan ;) Sio maybe a victim of the Brumbies scrum getting consistently...
  18. Deputy Van Halen

    Wallabies v France 1st test - Suncorp 7 June

Zero surprises in the backs, both starting and bench really. Surprised Carter started but he has been playing well, more surprised at McCalman and Horwill on the bench, not exactly impact players. Not a bad team otherwise. No rebels. Ouch :(

    Wallaby Watch 2014

Think you've misinterpreted him there. He was saying Gill was part of a team that leaked 31 points in 40 minutes, which is true. Not that it was Gill's fault they leaked so many points. He had some strong involvements but the post above saying he should have been in the wobs squad after this...
