Bledisloe #1 New Zealand vs Australia, August 7 2021

Have to say, while I though McReight went well, if Hooper isn't coming off we lose a lot of balance with him on the bench (unless you're going 6/2). If we're going to be 5/3, I think your 6/8/20 need to be three of Isi, Valetini, Swinton and Wilson.

I'm all for giving Noah another run, just need an old head at 12. Any chance of JOC (James O'Connor) being available? How about Swinton, will he be fit?

Not shattered at that, just lost the plot for the middle 30 minutes, and that's all it took!

I think that demonstrates the need for an older head in the backline. I think we need either JOC (James O'Connor) or To'omua at 12. Probably need to keep Hunter at 13, MK comes back for Petaia, I think Kellaway has well and truly earned his place. In the forwards, I think Isi comes back to 8, Wilson wasn't bad...

Certainly don't agree Sinclair being dead wood! When we were battling with 2nd rate kiwi locks who never should have been signed, Sinclair was turned from back-rower into lock and outperformed all of them. The guy's never going to be a Wallaby, but is a good, hardworking super level forward who...

    Refereeing decisions

He should be reported to the Australian Entertainment Industry Association for blatant over-acting!

I don't have too much of a problem with Bell in the scrum. He won't dominate, not many 20 year-olds will (even Tupou at that age) but most of the Tahs problems at scrum time this year was at THP. With a strong hooker (ie BPA or Uelese) he holds his side up just fine.

Talking of backrowers from the country, go back a bit further and you've got Greg Cornelsen from Armidale and Tony Gelling from West Wyalong (the latter, by the way, the uncle of the Staniforth boys).

Holmes would be a good signing, my recollection is he plays either side, and would be ideal until we could get someone like Darcy Breen up to standard. Pulu would also be good. Don't know about Timani, massive human but always seems a bit pedestrian to me. Again, someone like Thrush (yes, I know...

And I think Tim Gavin is from Cumnock, by the way.

Yes, Wamberal, as you may know Cameron Wilson (Harry's father) was with Elders in Gunnedah, don't know whether Harry was born then, but it's possible he may have started life in Gunnedah!

Well, we've re-signed all that I would have liked re-signed, plus a few I wouldn't have bothered with (looking at you Jack Whetton), now where is the strong scrummaging THP, the big, aggressive lock and the barnstorming, hard defending wing?

Winter Tour; Wallabies v France Wednesday 7 July, Brisbane

This is a great opportunity for Lolesio, a strong showing and he can cement his claim as the heir-apparent to JOC (James O'Connor), and make it very hard for his rivals. If he doesn't really make a go of it, he remains in the frame but also keeps Harrison/Donaldson right in it.

Just saw the Stan Sport interview with Coleman, a pretty soft interview as you would expect, but I though he said the right things. He did comment that the board will be allowing him to spend the full cap for next year, that must give Penney the shits, and you have to feel for him. He was...
