Surely Ruan Smith in next week!

Not sure what the run-on caps would be, but my guess is about 6!

    Waratahs 2022

On the best team, is it right that Hanigan doesn't return until mid season? If that's the case: 1. Bell 2. Porecki 3. Smith 4. Douglas 5. Holloway 6. Swinton 7. Hooper 8. Warren-Voyasaco 9. Gordon (c) 10. Harrison 11. Ramm 12. Foketi 13. Perese 14. Peitch 15. Donaldson Res: Horton, HJH (Harry Johnson-Holmes)...

Hamstring issues very often relate to back issues. Sometimes curable, sometimes, sadly not. I've known a couple of pretty handy players who had careers cut short through recurring hamstring issues, and in each case it was related to a back problem

Latu was a Tah, there is no defence!!;)

    Refereeing decisions

Valetini's red and Swinton's last year are exactly the same, poor technique! Under the current rules they will always be a red, deliberate or not. Tackling upright like that is always going to be extreme high risk, and needs to be addressed.

That's interesting Derpus. While I'm pretty happy with the job Rennie is doing considering where we are coming from, the fact he isn't aligned with one of our Super franchises saves him a fair bit of grief from these boards. The reality is his win rate is 48%, compared with McKenzie 50%, Cheika...

    Wallabies 2023

In my recollection we have mostly ranked ahead of Ireland, but generally behind the AB's, Boks, England and the French. But yes, I take your point RN, incompetence and insularity among those who run the game has played a significant part. A lack of attention to fostering the game in western...

    Wallabies 2023

I think some people's idea of our 'rightful place' in world rugby is coloured by there age. The McQueen/Eales era between 1998 and 2002 is unquestionably the greatest era for Australian rugby ever. The reality is the Bledisloe has been contested around 60 times, we have won 11, five of those...

I must say it's much better to reside here rather the the front page, where every day we get the same posters unloading their vitriol on anyone or anything that's ever been associated with the Tahs. I get that people have a bias towards their own team, as I have, and there are certain players...

A couple of brief comments Reg I remain to be convinced that Petaia, despite his undoubted physical attributes, really has a football brain. As such, I think Banks is still the leading contender for FB, Hodge the back-up, but personally I would like to see a lot more of Kellaway there, he really...

    Wallabies 2021

Quade has always been an extraordinarily talented footballer, without doubt imo the best Australian 10 since Larkham, and possibly even more talented than him, you may even go back to Ella to see a more naturally talented 10.. However, he had a couple of major flaws which he seems to have had to...

Skelton hasn't gone from being one of the most effective locks in Europe to a disaster overnight (I know he was a Tah, BL, but he's not anymore so you don't have to be so vindictive). If you watch his European games, a ball player is putting the ball in front of him at the right moments to crash...

Foketi has started on the wing at the Tahs once or twice, having said that I was just clutching at straws, I would probably stick with Wright.

    Wallabies 2021

I would make big changes for Wales, nothing to lose really. 9. White, 10. Lolesio, 11. Wright, 12. JOC (James O'Connor), 13. Perese, 14. Daugunu, 15. Kellaway 21. McDermott, 22. Paisami, 23. Ikatau White and Lolesio should be able to work together, and having White and JOC (James O'Connor) around him gives him experience and a...

FP, I agree re a third hooker, pity Cotton went OS, I thought he looked all right. Plenty of locks, but either journeymen or youngsters, no real quality until Hanigan returns. 15 is certainly thin, probably Donaldson with Funa or Mark N (Nawaqanitawase) next, doesn't fill you with confidence. The one area I...

    TRC2021 - Wallabies v Pumas @ Townsville 25/09

I thought the two weak points in an otherwise pretty solid performance were the number of soft penalties we gave away, and the line-out. While I thought Leota went well, we really missed Swinton at the front of the line-out. Not sure what the answer is there, as if he doesn't fix his tackling...

    Waratahs 2022

I see Newsome as a pretty solid Super rugby player. He will never be a Wallaby, but the reality is a lot of Super level players won't be. He's had some pretty good games for the Tahs, and a few ordinary ones. We may well get two better wings, which would be great, but Newsome is the sort of...
