This is another gem: 61 words without a full stop- excellent work!

    Reds 2013

Even a minor rolled ankle is always worse when someone weighs 120kg than when they weigh 88kg. The ligaments are the same strength and diameter for both players, but the load going through the joint with each step (even in a boot) is much greater than a smaller player. I'd say it was a fairly...

    Qld Premier Rugby 2013

GPS & Uni prems & prem colts played at Ballymore. GPS Colts touched up Uni pretty comprehensively. It was closer in grades but I think GPS still ran away with it- they look as strong as ever. Obviously a fair few handling errors on both sides too. While both sides have been kicked off fields...

    Qld Premier Rugby 2013

SouthernX I don't think team lists will be available in advance - Uni in the past have fielded a seeming cast of thousands (at least, that's how it feels when you're strapping...) and I'm sure they aren't the lone rangers there. As far as results, I know that it's always nice to have a win...

I thought Jay Havelu had moved back to the GC club? Just something I saw on twitter - could've misunderstood thierry dusautoir I can confirm that Vili has changed to GPS too EDIT: Jan 28 Jay tweeted "Off to train like a boss with the GC Breakers. Be nice lungs.... etc" So looks like he's moved...

    Qld Premier Rugby 2013

Purce my research tells me that was the way it was supposed to happen when it returned in 2007. Not that easy these days getting Super Rugby sides to agree to an 80min game before a Super Rugby game. Fantastic by the NSWRU & Tahs to agree. Wonder if Jordan Chapman will emulate Dave McDuling in...

Hasn't happened FilthRugby - it's Sydney Uni's turn to host, and the last I heard (and I haven't heard anything for a while so there might be better mail out there) they were having troubles finding a location and a date that would fit in with Queensland's season and their venue availability...

    QLD Colts 2013

Absolutely agree- wasn't sure whether the changes in rugby on the GC & alignment with Bond Uni etc had meant more players/teams etc. probably should've been clearer.

    QLD Colts 2013

Does anyone know what's happening with the Gold Coast colts side? I haven't heard much at all from there.

    QLD Colts 2013

I think that's also why it's hard to talk about where players are going to out of school until the season actually starts - it's not uncommon for players to try out a few clubs and until they've paid rego they aren't really "locked in".

Colts was U20 in 1999, then it went to U19 in Qld. Does anyone know why? Probably the most annoying thing for emerging colts is that First XVs can push in scrums and lift off legs in lineouts. Going to U19 laws for some of them defies logic

    Qld Premier Rugby 2013

Interesting that Jets thought the numbers were good/high while thierry dusautoir thought they weren't that high. I guess then we're looking at performance vs participation which is a whole new (and for geeks like me, fascinating) kettle of fish. Alas I hate to hog the forum conversation...

    Qld Premier Rugby 2013

A few blasts from the past there Jets including a handy Queensland bowler, a player whose name I recognise from the Knights and one I know 100% is playing overseas (I'm sure there are more). I think your question about Rookies to Reds & Sevens is a really interesting one. I also wonder to what...

    Qld Premier Rugby 2013

Came across this in my travels. http://qrfsu.rugbynet.com.au/default.asp?id=169728 Is it just me, or are almost all of them still playing rugby union, and if so, is this a higher proportion of schoolboys still playing 2 or 3 years on, than usual? [From 1999 (or so) there was a research...

    Qld Premier Rugby 2013

Related to your post, I'm interested in whether you think a player's overall style of play ever changes based on their training/where they're playing/who the coach is, do you think a player is predisposed to playing in a certain style throughout their playing career? And if so, at what point do...

    Shameless journalism: Folau

That's the second week in a row that Growden has used "rabid dog". At least this week's metaphor made some sense. Last week he likened David Pocock to "a rabid dog burrowing for a juicy bone" which really confused me. Rabid dogs attack indiscriminately and they aren't known for their...

TD can you recall if (and when) he played there before going overseas? From what you've seen of him playing for the Reds has his style of play changed much? (I'd imagine skill would've improved, but some players are workmanlike, others abrasive etc) Did he have a stint in NSW too?
