    Rugby TV Shows

Also Rebecca Tavo - Australia's captain - would be great. It'd be nice if the woman they had appearing on the show would actually talk about women's rugby. Having a woman in an Erin Molan (RL Footy Show) capacity would just smack of tokenism: "Here's someone else to talk about the men's game...

    Qld Premier Rugby 2013

I think in these discussions we need to consider off-field as well as on-field involvement. On the weekend for Uni vs Easts I saw James Horwill, Chibba Hanson, Mike Harris, Rod Davies, Jono Lance, Dave McDuling etc. watching the first grade and Premier grade games (also Quade Cooper - think...

    Qld Premier Rugby 2013

thierry dusautoir He played mostly LHP, but given he played every year for 8 or more years (came own after school season finished in yr 12 & never left), then worked his way up through the grades (captain-coached a 3rd grade side to a premiership IIRC?) before eventually "making it" its a safe...

Agreed- Tessmann is the same age as Moore, Mitchell, McMeniman et al. He's been around some blocks.

    Qld Premier Rugby 2013

East Coast Aces At the time, Rebels wanted Tessmann because he was a "front rower"- he had played prop almost exclusively at Uni, then at Eastwood I think he went to hooker almost full-time. The Rebels wanted one person on a bench who could cover the 2 specialist positions. And on the bench he...

Press releases from the ARU Media Unit

I have a blog post on the front page dealing with the pictures of the ARU, rather than the words. Pedants of the world, UNTIE ;)! http://is.gd/kAJVZi

    Qld Premier Rugby 2013

I agree that too many games are cancelled to preserve fields, but I think much of the "blame" lies with the organisations who own the fields & allow teams to train & play on them at their discretion. For example Uni of Qld makes money from 5A during athletics season, and their soccer team also...

    Women's Rugby Union

Hugh Jarse I only know that Queensland White went through undefeated. I only know that because some of the girls I know (and follow on instagram & twitter) posted the photo & results. I'll endeavour to find out more & post some pics too.

SouthernX I think all teams have their own "logos"; I think the AFL might be the Lions, the Netball Team may be the Saints (this may be just an unreliable Uni Games memory...) etc.

Hey all. I heard a rumour tonight that Mitch Wade has moved to GPS. Can anyone confirm or refute?

    Play Super, Play Local

I'm not from NSW, so I'm not 100% sure of this, but I thought the Shute Shield was administered by the Sydney Rugby Union, not the NSWRU. Am I confused?

    Rebels 2013

The issue I see that Lipman's comment has raised is that KB (Kurtley Beale) has seemingly punched his teammates before without apparent consequence; yet we've had people on these forums say that punching teammates should result in a contract torn up. Is the fact that it's never been made public the reason why...

Inside Shoulder I don't know you well enough to see if you're taking the mickey out of me - I'm assuming because you looked it up you're "one of us" ;) I agree 100% with what you said. For me it is isn't a cause of any issues at all; rather their style is often symbolic of the wider...

    Qld Premier Rugby 2013

Played a trial against GPS a few years ago there. It was fantastic. The junior club's organisation was second to none, the canteen flow was very quick, the cans of coke were icy cold, great selection of chocolates & lollies, the burgers were incredible, and the dressing sheds & toilets were...

Thanks Inside Shoulder and Lindommer for taking the time to look that up! Also with him and you IS - if in doubt leave it out. (The same goes for apostrophes) Feel free to mentally amend that one sentence in my post. I'll leave it in there for my, and everyone else's, future edification...

To clarify, I wouldn't bother with the hyphen normally. In fact, modern custom is to reduce punctuation where you can to enhance readability. I think interrupts the flow of the eye through the sentence. But there was a hyphen used in the sentence, and I thought "ok, if the hyphen is necessary...

Press releases from the ARU Media Unit

Inside Shoulder it's not a hard and fast rule, but I felt that highly and anticipated were both used as adjectives where "highly" compounded the "anticipated" (if that makes sense o_O ) to describe the British and Irish Lions tour. So I paired them with a hyphen. I wouldn't normally care but...

I'm baaaacckkkk Australia’s Huge Year of Rugby set to continue after The Lions 3/19/2013 By ARU Media Unit Glad you aren’t announcing the confirmation of the tentative schedule…. If we chop out the “final” it reads better. . Well I’m glad the Wallabies will be making their way down...

That's what I find so amazing - 61 words, 2 commas, 4 half-baked ideas, and the sentence says a grand total of nothing...!
