    ACTJRU U18 & ACT Schools XV 2013

Meeks, this is sad to hear. Considering all the work you guys were putting in to build up the profile and esteem of the '1st XV' down there it's dissapointing that it may get undermined by the mungos and their money. Why are they opting to play on Saturdays so often this year? Have they found...

You could be right, it might have been the younger brother who attended Knox?? I havent said Knox are the best school in Sydney, only that they are up there. Their record speaks for itself, this year may be a weaker year but then if thats the case it only reflects of Marist I guess...they must...

I I am referring to the Simonsson who played in the 16's last year and probably 1st XV this year...the 1st XV who got belted by 65 points against Knox. If Knox are not one of the top Rugby Schools in Sydney (at least top 10 anyway) then lets hope Marist dont come up against any, it could be...

How m How many were injured and how come they are carrying injuries already without having played a game? I am amazed Marist College Canberra would be willing to send teams away to one of the best Rugby schools in Sydney and face such a thrashing, its a little embarrasing really. Now they are...

I hear Marist got thrashed 55-3 by Knox on the weekend. WOW! Thats a pizzling regardless of it being the first trial for the year. Could be a long year down at Pearce....I see that their 2nds and 16's also got thrashed. Does anybody know if they had any players missing or were they at full...

Choose 4 clubs would you include in a national comp

Easily the most sensible recomendation and funnily enough largely ignored...You cant have individual clubs represent as they will feast off the riches of other clubs who dont qualify. Sydney districts - West, North, East and South (Uni and Souths) Brisbane - West, North, East and South ACT -...

Right you are Guru. Which of the Marist kids is playing with the Raiders?

Hmmm curious to know why/how he chose eddies....very similar to Tyrone SMITH many years ago when he suddenly appeared at Eddies from Cromer High whilst his brother was at the Brumbies. Why does a guy who is already clearly immersed in the system need to change school and state for year 12...

Can anyone tell me where Montana O'Neil who played at Marist last year has ended up going to for 2013?

Thanks Guru, those selections only confirm my beleif that Eddies will be too strong this year. Where has Tomane come from and what year is he in?

Any idea on how Trinity might go if they return to the top flight? The last time they would have played 1st XV level would have been in their previous life as St Pats wouldn't it?

Wow! It certainly sounds like Vikings are stepping up to the plate and if not this year, certainly in the years to come they will develop some very good systems and development which will see them become a real force to be reckoned with. Judging by this the traditionaly strong schools will have...

Do you have any predictions yourself Guru? Also, has anybody heard how Erindale got on with their application to play in the Waratah Shield for 2013? Lastly, if your out there Meeks or anyone else who may know, how are Vikings coming along with their initiatives that have been discussed earlier...

    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

IS, we have had our disagreements but I totaly agree with you and your comments above. The key to producing better professional footballers is to have greater competition across the board rather than a concentration of talent across 3-4 teams in one comp at the lower tiers and schools level.

Where did McGuire attend prior to SJC? In any case this sounds like an isolated case if indeed it is correct. Your original statement was quite broad and implied that all other Marist schools are used by SJC as breeding ground. In my experience this is far from the case and no matter which...

    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

I stand corrected and apologise for this. I thought they were a CB school but as you mentioned, a check of their website shows they are clearly not. I am aware of several staff there who have previous links with CB schools where scholarships were common place, despite no mention of them on their...

Not Not quite sure what my DOB has to do with this?? You still havent answered my questions about who these supposed impoverished Marist students are that get offered up to the gods of St Josephs at the invite of the Brothers there? Was Maguire one of them or was he sent there by his parents...

    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

I think you may have mistaken this form of scholarship giving, i.e under the guise of helping the needy, for the practice used by Christian Brothers schools such as Eddies, Nudgee and Augustines. They have perfected the art and assisted many an impoverished Pacific islander to progress to the...
