Rugby League players who could have/could make the switch

I'd have loved to have seen Joey Johns playing at 10. He tackled like a back rower, had a superb kicking game and a freakish ability to find holes in any defence. I know I'll cop it for saying this, but for me he was the most brilliant and complete player in either code while he was running...

Does anyone else fear for TPN's Brain?

I've heard similar stories (and I'm sure someone else has mentioned it on one of these threads) about rugby league players 'throwing' their tests by deliberately reacting slowly so they can pass them later in the season after head knocks.

Rebels vs Crusaders Rnd 12 Super Rugby 2012

Great stuff from the Rebels. I'm sure it's going to be a massive night of not getting drunk for old Lipdogg and co.

Does anyone else fear for TPN's Brain?

I was just about to say that. If a boxer stumbles over while trying to get up after a knock-down the fight is over. Seeing TPN get up and then face-plant after that head knock was pretty sickening.

    Size of international backs

I thought the most dangerous looking backs on the field yesterday were Leigh Halfpenny, as well as Stuart Hogg, neither of whom are very big.

    2012 6 Nations

Well that wasn't a surprise. 9pm local time for kick off didn't really help. This has been an incredible cold snap after such a mild winter. Feel for the Ireland fans who flew over there for the game. Ah well, I can think of worse places to be on a Saturday night with a game called off.

    2012 6 Nations

I didn't think much of the England v Scotland game. Woeful skill execution and it just seemed like there was very little rugby played. Even when teams had attacking opportunities close to the line nobody really looked like scoring, often through poor backline alignment, players taking the ball...

    Waratahs 2012

We need to bring back Hendrik Roodt from South Africa purely for the comic value of his nickname. I remember reading somewhere that they called him 'Dud'.

    Arise Sir Ted

is the Kiwi knighthood in any way related to the British one if he is only known as 'Sir' in NZ?

Willie Mason could sign for Toulon

I hate to subject you all to the contents of one of Danny 'The Weed' Weidler's columns. But I will. In his column 'Reni's Hard Sell: Bring Back Mason', which quickly, and unsurprisingly, turns into 'The Weed's Big Sell', Mason is leaving France not because he was useless, but because, in spite...

    Wallabies vs Barbarians

it looked like a back knock. Copped a knee in the back from Simon Shaw

    Wallabies vs Barbarians

O'Connor would have to be the strongest pound for pound player going around. Just so strong in the contact, even in traffic among the big units. He just manages to get his body in the right position and bump off the first tackle, at least. Diggers is also a machine. Don't think we can read...
