    Sitaleki Timani

Foley showed a bit of faith in him by picking him for the first game and he got his confidence.

    Sitaleki Timani

Pretty sure he's committed to Tonga for the RWC. His form this year is no accident, he trained the house down in the pre season. And he's got a "little" brother, Lopeti, who plays a similar type of game and is about the same size. He's been playing no 8 for Southern Districts in the Shute...

    Shute Shield 2011

Good player. About 21yo, plays wing, fb and sometimes centre or even 5/8. Wing probably his best position. Was in waratahs academy last year and rebels academy this year. Very fast. I think he would have played super rugby here in the next couple of years if he'd stayed around.

Boiden must have been more impressive in his 3 minutes of game time??? Crazy days!

I don't entirely agree. Berrick's case is unusual and it's not surprising that the medical staff were a bit unsure how long to give him. In the end, they based their decisions on his clinical appearance, which seems reasonable. Cliffy and Waugh have suffered different injuries, not recurrences...

    Shute Shield 2011

I particularly like the look of the front row. Aldy King went really well against Eddie Aholelei, who is no slouch and it's hard to believe that Sam Talakai is only 19. Great shame to see Benny Roberts go down with what looks like a serious knee injury. He really should have a contract by now...

    Shute Shield 2011

It seems to happen a bit that guys who are front rowers in Super Rugby franchises and go alright in that arena, come back to the field when they play Shute. For some, they have to go through a period of relearning how to scrummage, which makes them struggle for a while. For others it is a...

My mail is that Ryan will play LHP if needed. that's where he played until moving to THP at the start of 2009.

    Waratahs 2012

This kid is going to be very good. Have to keep reminding myself that he is that young. Played a fair bit of first grade for Uni last year and Junior Tahs as well. Give him a couple of years and he may well turn out to be a good one.

That is a MASSIVE pack. I suspect that is no coincidence. They are going out to try to smash them.

I was a bit surprised that they flew him over. He has been struggling for a few weeks with back spasms and hasn't played much footy.

    Sharks v. Tahs - 2011R15

Medial collateral ligament. Usually doesn't need surgery. Paddy Ryan is over there.

    Sharks v. Tahs - 2011R15

Kepu has a knee MCL strain. Not sure how bad, they can be anywhere from 0-8 weeks. Probably have an MRI tomorrow. I thought Slipper went alright tonight, most of the trouble was on the other side.

    Shute Shield 2011

Interesting. Forward packs are often described as young OR tough. Rarely are they described as young AND tough. They were outstanding yesterday. What the Uni coaches and systems have been able to achieve with this group is brilliant. They have clearly learnt their lessons from earlier games...
