I’ve just seen footage of Zach Fittler in HM Cup. He is 15 but looks bigger than most of the 17 year olds. Was he playing u15s last year in same Scots team as Bartlett?

Poor bastard, WTF did he do to deserve that path in life? expelled from New. I’m sure all the GPS schools have some kind of ‘prisoner exchange’.

Thanks, I had assumed everyone in that side was still at school since it’s U18

St Pauls always produces some of the best schoolboy crews in the UK so this is not surprising. Also many of the boys in the Eton, Radley, St Pauls crews started rowing at least a year or two before their Australian counterparts and their facilities (Eton’s Dorney was used as the 2012 Olympic...

Thanks, this explains why I haven’t heard the name before. Quite an achievement from 13Bs to 1st XV King’s in year 11. TKS Aths definitely has good depth in sprinting so yes will be interesting to see 11 to 15 next year.

Seems to be Indian surname, must be a 1st in any GPS school team of the 6 schools, great to see so much diversity now in rugby and the GPS in general

What’s the other winger like for Kings? Never seen his name at GPS Aths (but they do seem to have a good depth of sprinters) or coming up through 16As etc.

Yes. I have a friend from New (dayboy) his elder brother was a boarder there and went to Joeys, no idea why the younger (my friend) didn’t go there but does say his older brother never talks about his time at that prep.

I thought there was an ‘unofficial’ Joeys prep which took boarders in year 5 and 6. It’s in Ryde or something. I have a few friends my era who went there and then went to Joeys. Also obviously the strong boarding numbers at Joeys don’t do any harm to their cohesion and skills in junior years...

B But wouldn’t they have played together in local teams (dayboys). I’m presuming most Joeys dayboys come from Mosman Juniors or HH Juniors

Thought everyone was raving about this Finlay Bartlett in Scots 1sts, how did he end up in U16B President’s XV? Btw is it possible to be selected in both GPS 1s and President XV?

Interesting stats re Shore. They are penultimate on the 1st XV tally but converse on the 2nd XV tally. Why didn’t they just move some of their 2nds players up? Why would there be such a gap in their 1sts and 2nds performance?

Not exactly central but a lot of Newington boys live in Hunters Hill. Apparently it’s the closest non Catholic GPS school. I imagined Shore would be closer but apparently not.
