Scots was originally located in that area (Brighton Le Sands). Lots of GPS families there. Most popular schools are (in order) New, Scots and Grammar. Scots Prep however enrollment demographic at Brighton very very different to Bellevue Hill. More into soccer by the looks than Rugby.

For those who still want more schoolboy rugby SA Western Cape school boy derby Paarl Boys vs Paarl Gim currently live streamed on YouTube. SA schools rugby has to be the most competitive in the world. The under 16As of Paarl Boys, Bishops, Michaelhouse etc play at the standard of 1st XV of Joeys...

What’s frustrating is they always have a top performing 16A team. One would think these would mean a competitive transition into 1st and 2nds

    NSW AAGPS 2022

Why are New 2nds always so much weaker than the other 2nds teams? Have they won any GPS matches in last 3 years?

W Why is View last? I’ve only run there (from memory all my View games were home games at New) but recall they have beautiful grounds and plenty of ovals

I’m hoping for a win but know it will be close. With Siteni out it will be one try either way.

So So the Dundon twins run GPS XC then back up for rugby in the afternoon

This is why I think the 22 plus margin is optimistic with Siteni out.

I like your optimism but New by +22?

Joeys are going to have a field day with new war cries. Just googled his schoolboy photos, almost unrecognizable. Looks more like Sebastian Chabal now.

Toby Rudolf from the Sharks all over the news is the same Toby Rudolf from Scots 1st XV?

Kings, Grammar and New were the first GPS schools so that’s likely why.

Yes just remembered. He was in my House in prep. He ran XC in year 4 but beat everyone in year 5 and 6. I often wonder if he would have played for Wallabies if he stayed at New. He was same year as Scott Bowen

Jorgo was a star track athlete (he used to run one age group up and still win sprints) and rugby player at New. His skills weren’t learnt at Joeys but rather honed. I agree it’s different from him being a late arrival but I don’t think it’s accurate to say he was part of a ‘core group’ if he was...

Not sure why you’re counting Peter Jorgensen starting from year 7 when you clearly state he started in year 9 (having been at Newington since Kindergarten along with his older brother). Ryan was a year 12 repeater from Cranbrook.

I think J Reilly (also 1988) from Newington (winner of elusive Triple Colour Badge) ran 4x 100, GPS Shot Put Champion and 1st XV for 3 years as prop. Ended up playing for Qld Reds, Cambridge in the Varsity match and is now rugby master at Canberra Grammar. Ironically he was best known at school...
