Wallabies v Wales Game 2 Sat 13 July Melbourne

One of those games where neither coach will be happy. Luckily for us Wales butchered that game They missed three opportunities for rolling maul tries that we were going nowhere near stopping

Wallabies v Wales Game 2 Sat 13 July Melbourne

20,000 there for the France game in 2021 and 13,500 for the Fiji game in 2017. I don't think they would be expecting on getting much different to those sort of numbers for a Wales teat

Melbourne Rebels Players - where are they going?

Even the most popular Shute Shield clubs currently hvs annual income of around $1 to 1.5m. Most are a fair bit less than this. It's nowhere near what is required for pro rugby (The Rebels were spending $14m a year). Many/most of the Hospital Cup teams don't even charge for entry. There's no...

Melbourne Rebels Players - where are they going?

Depending on what the budget is, there is probably no clubs that could put up a viable business case?

Melbourne Rebels Players - where are they going?

Pretty sure it was free entry at Brothers for that game. There definitely weren't 10,000, or even 5,000 there. Crosby Park can't hold anything like that. It was a good crowd sure, but let's be realistic here, I've been to 3 Shute Shield and 3 Hospital Cup games so far this year. There isn't...

Wallabies v Wales Game 2 Sat 13 July Melbourne

There isn't really another option, but it does make you wonder how Wilson gets back to match fitness playing half a game for Brothers?

    Australian Rugby / RA

I don't think it will. The clauses preventing RA from compelling players to move somewhere, and covering contractual payments in the event of a team losing rights to Super Rugby is part of the CBA, and has been in there since professionalism. RUPA won't ever agree to change it

    Australian Rugby / RA

Doesn't the report say they have a first preference where they play, and they would rather play club rugby than play anywhere else, not just in NSW?

    Australian Rugby / RA

LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) currently is "domiciled" in Victoria for his Super Rugby+RA contract. I wonder if RA wanted to play hardball, could they insist the players had to play club rugby in Victoria? If the player wanted to play club in Queensland, that would mean a change in player registration and the player would be the...

Melbourne Rebels Players - where are they going?

    Facts? On a rugby forum?
  11. Strewthcobber

    Australian Rugby / RA

The standard player contracts have a clause whereby players are employed by their Super Rugby team, unless they get told in writing by RA that RA have become their employer. This has obviously happened to all of the Rebels players. RA are their employer now. RA are entitled to give reasonable directions...

Melbourne Rebels Players - where are they going?

Is anything true? You've never heard of a player's agent leaking to compliant journos to try and drive a higher price for their client?

Wallabies v Wales Game 2 Sat 13 July Melbourne

The players all think it's hilarious

Wallabies v Wales Game 2 Sat 13 July Melbourne

Will be the 8th different captain in 12 tests apparently. Do coaches not think it's as important as fans do, do we have a complete leadership vacuum, or is it all just luck and cobbling pierces together?

    Australian Rugby / RA

The CBA forbids any arrangement that allows a Super Rugby team or RA to transfer, draft or require a Player to play in a State or Territory of Australia other than the one in which they have a contract without the players consent.

Wallabies v Wales Game 2 Sat 13 July Melbourne

I've said it before, but the players must all sit around giggling to each other when they list their weights on "Profile Day" at the start of the season

Melbourne Rebels Players - where are they going?

Maybe they can find common ground with Dan McKellar who just moved back with his family after settling in Leicester?

Melbourne Rebels Players - where are they going?

I'm pretty sympathetic to LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto). Remember he was released early from Northampton for "family reasons" - a homesick wife, and now he has had to pack up sticks and move again. He has a wife and two young kids, and it sounds like they have had enough of moving around. How that works in the context of...

Melbourne Rebels Players - where are they going?

He has a guaranteed contract with RA. Will get paid at least the same for next year no matter what he does. Maybe he's holding out for a longer contract or similar, or maybe the Reds don't see a spot for him in the roster

Melbourne Rebels Players - where are they going?

Have also heard from an unofficial source (rumour) that he is also the guy who has said he will play club rugby in Queensland rather than move to the Tahs (or anywhere except Qld)
