Reg my point is that he was lined up to go to another club through Tongan connections until Mr Cordingley got involved. Having said that by all accounts Taniela is a great clubman at Brothers.

Ryan Smith went to St Pat’s Shorncliffe so most of them did not in fact go to Nudgee.

It helps to have Sam Cordingley corralling Reds players in the direction of Crosby Rd. This was certainly the case for Taniela. Having said that Wilson, McReight, JOC (James O'Connor) have always been associated with Brothers.

Not that I am complaining but how does Suru Uru end up at Wests? Easts can’t be happy losing George Francis to Wests last year and now Seru. I know it’s dead and I’m old fashioned but I do like old fashioned club loyalty.

I think Denis Owen (Reds & Easts stalwart) christened Daly with the “Doubles” nickname whilst at school together at St Laurence’s. Aren’t too many people in the world that are just known by the one name e.g. Cher, MJ, Madonna, Bono. So he is in rare air space indeed is Doubles.

I think the Rhino’s been around for about 10 years. I’d be surprised if they changed the official colour from Maroon to red but the QRU changed the colour of the Reds jersey until they switched it back in the last few years.

Ok I didn’t realise he got injured - I just hadn’t heard much of him in 2021 that’s all. Last game I saw him play was the 2020 GF which wasn’t his finest hour (nor Uni’s) when his scrum was decimated & his lineout throwing exposed as a difficulty.

Whilst on front row positions how do we think George Francis is handling pre-season at Yeronga?

Sorry Josh Nasser. Will he be the premier grade hooker at Uni next year or is that experiment done with, and if so would he be able to secure one of the other front row positions in 2022?

It’s big George’s 3rd club in about 8 months. That must be some kind of record in QPR surely. I recon he’ll play for another club before the end of the 2022 season following an inevitable fallout with Souths.

So they should be the most successful team in QPR because they have had a moratorium over the best schoolboy talent for one reason or another for about 20 years now - it is a mystery how other clubs have managed QPR success throughout this period. These comments are not to detract from Mick...
