I think Bonds race might have been run. They’ll need two wins with BPs and hope that Wests & Brothers stand still. It’s not over just yet but will be if they go down to Bros this weekend. Wests(46 points) play GPS & Uni Bros (44) play Bond & GPS Bond(37) play Bros & Souths If they beat Bros...

Interesting that Easts are gone and yet they have knocked off Bond, Wests & Bros in the second half of the season - these 3 clubs will be thankful that the Tigers aren’t in the mix for finals footy, because 3 doesn’t go into 2 let alone 4.

And aren’t the Rebels doing exactly the same as Brad Thorn did 3/4 years ago. - get a good young group together and bring them through.

And the reason why they don’t have Super contracts is that despite the fact that are good/great club players there are better players in the Aust Super sides than them. Classic example of Liam Gill’s limited Wallaby opportunities. And the best club flanker for last 10 years arguably -...

Sorry can’t pass up an opportunity to congratulate Mr Piconi on the Israel Folau Japanese deal. How managers and players find people of their same ilk - is another interesting study.

Is he really? After he coached a very impressive GPS side circa 2012-13 that were run away minor premiers in 2013 they didn’t get the job done in the 2013 finals, he then got a rails run into jobs at Reds & Aust U20 where there weren’t too many wraps coming his way. He’s then been out of sight...

The thing is that the Reds are not a representative team any more but a club side with a squad of contracted players.

Every club would like to be known for their humility- well done tigers - their is not a lot of crap coming from Easts despite their 1-7 start to this season which must be hard to take after the 2020 success. 6 from 6 grand final victories was an amazing effort and probably during the pandemic...

The Easts fall from 6 from 6 premierships to 0-6 Premier Grade 2021 record is quite remarkable, but I think you will find that from the GF side the following guys (11) did not run out against Brothers last weekend: 1 (Wests), 2 (Reds), 3 (Rebels), 4 (Reds), 7 (Retired/Sabattical), 8(Retired)...

I was thrilled when they rolled out John Denver's Country Road on fulltime at Suncorp last Saturday!

I hear George Francis is running out for Wests tomorrow and whilst that is a great outcome for Wests the traditionalist in me says I don’t like it. I don’t like blokes changing clubs at the best of times let alone mid-season. I hope he gets a win tomorrow or he might be playing for another club...

Did Easts suffer Aust Club Champs hang over? Not unusual for clubs to experience this. Or were Snbk good? I think it may well have been a case of both.

I'd say they put in the points scored in the trial v Wests last week which was 26. Bit sneaky though by the Tigers!! If they can rack up 26 points against Sunnybank next week then I think they'll walk away with the chocolates!! (pardon the Easter pun)

Wests and Easts shared the spoils yesterday: Prems narrow win by Easts 26-17; Wests snatched a late try on FT to run out a 32-29 win and I think it was 5 tries to 3 to Easts in Colts 1. All very tight contests with the heat playing a large part in the earlier games and unfortunately for Easts...

There are a few club with front row depth issues - most notably Uni who went uncontested in Prem mid game v Brothers. Maybe Uni should have done that mid way last year’s GF!! Seriously if clubs can’t get some decent front row depth together they will end up down towards the bottom of the table.

Is Aust Club Championship game between Easts & Gordon (2:00 kick off, this Saturday at David Wilson) being televised on Stan/Kayo? Will be interesting to see the respective merit of both teams, but given Easts 6/6 premierships in 2020, I would like to see them get up and put the cherry on that...

With respect Lion what have these 3 (or Thorn, Stiles, Graham, Mooney for that mater) achieved to suggest that they would be successful coaches at Super level?

I think Dammers needs to be given a fair go as he inherited rebuilding squads at GPS(following the 2013 loss/Picone) & now Souths(post Picone). He had great success with South’s colts in 2019, and the young South playing group may well be still a year off, but I think The Magpies need to be...

    QLD Premier Rugby 2021

I think the fact that the Aust Club Championship being played at the start of the subsequent year diminishes from its standing because the sides that run out bare little resemblance to the sides that won the respective GFs the year before. In Easts case this year they will have the following...
