    The Queensland Rugby Club

So at this stage they aren't looking at investing in a QRC HQ like they had on Eagle St? I'm not the biggest fan of The Alliance Hotel but I do like the idea of bringing something like this back.

    QLD Premier Rugby 2015

I think you'll find GPS had the same stock of blokes playing at the club for about 4-5 years and in that time won their fair share of Premierships from Reggies down to 4th grades. A few of those guys stopped playing last year and then another couple this year. Colts have been on the weaker side...

It was a tough day for GPS out at UQ on the weekend. I don't believe a single team won a game. The guys at St Lucia across all grades looked like a well oiled machine. Kudos to their coaching staff and players for getting themselves into such good positions early in the season.

Just had a quick squiz at RugbyLink for today's games. Logan have already forfeited in 2nd and 3rd grade?! Surely their 3rd grade are pulled from the comp now and 2nd grade wouldn't be far off. Such a shame.

Tom Christie who played 9 for GPS on the weekend is a really good, well rounded player. Didn't have his best game but was far from poor in my opinion. I've heard GPS have halfbacks coming out of their ears but none of them are really up to Premier Grade level. They are still waiting for Grasso...

    Reds 2015

I honestly think 2016 is a decent target and I hope the QRU in their search for a new coach will find someone who believes they can use the current stock to win a title. The guys I mentioned as up and comers will have rising stock and most likely will be hard to hold onto all of them past...

    Coaching Options for Qld Rugby

I think as Reds fan we need to start dealing with the reality that; 1. RG is here to stay for 2015 2. A new coach probably won't be announced until later in the year, as many have mentioned post-RWC is when a few guys will come off contract 3. It is doubtful that the return of Quade, Simmons...

    Reds 2015

I posted something in here about a month before the season started (prior to all the injuries, scandals etc) saying the Reds should be targeting the title in 2016, rather than this year. Due to numerous factors including; 1. a dud coach (has been proven extensively on Reds Coaching thread) 2...

    Coaching Options for Qld Rugby

This thread probably needs to be shut soon. The last few pages have turned into a speculative whinge fest about why RG isn't gone yet rather than discussing viable options for coaches in 2016 (the most likely scenario now as it doesn't seem like RG is moving before then). The Reds 2015 and...

    Coaching Options for Qld Rugby

Why bother sacking RG any later than now and giving the new coach a half arsed attempt to win a few games? You're better off letting RG sink with his ship, let the guys who are leaving head overseas and the new coach can start fresh in 2016. By all means if they are replacing him then announce...

    Coaching Options for Qld Rugby

It honestly doesn't surprise me at this stage. If the QRU were going to move RG on, they would have done so straight after the Brumbies game. It became pretty clear to me that when Foxsports wasn't littered with 'Reds Coached Sacked' articles on Sunday morning that RG isn't going anywhere in...

    QLD Colts 2015

I noticed during the pre-season Souths attached Shane Arnold's name to a few of the Colts training sessions but haven't heard much more about that. I said from the start that throwing Nicol into Prem Colts straight off the bat may not be the best option for Souths. We will see how it pays off...

I can understand the appeal of the moulded boots and on some of the drier fields around Brisbane the metal tags can be a prick to run in. But I just don't understand why blokes playing at a semi-professional level with 700kg+ of force coming at them can't see the value in getting proper footwear!

    QLD Premier Rugby 2015

In the above video I couldn't really see it warranting a penalty to Sunnybank but also don't think the collapse was due to pressure coming through from Wests. Again as Swansong says its always up to debate but it looked more like an unstable platform rather than the work of a dominant scrum...

    QLD Colts 2015

Yeh the Uni colts program definitely has a monopoly on the Colts Premierships at this stage and that is unlikely to change much due to their advantageous position in attracting players Colt aged players (lower fees and students on campus being the main two I believe). GPS had a decent run of...

    QLD Premier Rugby 2015

I daresay even if they won't be playing, most of the Reds will have been told to head out and support their various clubs. I know Anthony and Saia were regulars down at GPS last year. For that reason I would hope the QRU make an announcement at least along the lines of 'Head out to your local...

    QLD Premier Rugby 2015

Anyone have mail on how Logan are shaping up? I believe QRU regulations state if a team forfeits 3 consecutive games they are removed from the competition. Logan's 3rd grade might be in trouble, however, I did notice they got a Colts team on the park which is good news.

    QLD Colts 2015

Interesting observations Swansong and Crusher. In my experience with Colts over the years I have often thought that judging a club on the success of their Colts 1 side is a good indication of their Colts program. Some clubs find it easy to attract the superstars into Premier Colts and others...

TT from where I was and what I heard, Dammers had a discussion with Moore after the game to clarify some of his decisions. Specifically Mitch King's yellow card. Obviously no one was happy with the referee but I don't believe the discussion was malicious in any way.

Apparently they are returning to GPS but so far have only been sighted once at training and are yet to play any games. Will have to wait and see.
